Davros El Davros Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Just wondering if anyone has any tips on removing the (inside) door handle and window winder from a KE10? I am trying to get mine off to pull the door cards off, but they are being pretty stubborn. Don't want to break anything just because I may not know the right trick... Thanks Davros Quote
philbey Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I just use a tiny flathead screwdriver and practice youre technique to pop the spring out; you'll get good after you've done a few of them Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Door Handle/Window Winder remover? There is an actual tool, haha supercheap should have it man! Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Someone on here said a fork with a few teeth missing did the job well :no2: Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 I got the tool to do it at a cheap shop in Ipswich mate cost $5..LOL Never go wrong with it or yes I am with the tooth less fork guy. Cheers Cameron P.S. Watch for the Jesus clip that can come flying out but :no2: Quote
Davros El Davros Posted March 11, 2010 Author Report Posted March 11, 2010 Cool, so there is actually a spring in there. Thanks for the info guys. Otherwise I would have just been trying to yank it off, like the old school Valiant ones that just push on. Cheers Davros Quote
tojo2 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 Use a strip of cloth/ rag . Slide it between winder and trim. Wiggle it about a bit and the clip should ccme off Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted March 11, 2010 Report Posted March 11, 2010 ive always just used a flat head screw driver Quote
philbey Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Thanks for the info guys. Otherwise I would have just been trying to yank it off, like the old school Valiant ones that just push on. I don't think that most people realise, but these winders actually Push On, they just don't pull off easily. Once you get the spring and winder in your hand, you can fit the Jesus clip into the winder and push it straight onto the shaft and it will lock into place. It's been designed so that it only takes a couple of seconds to assemble it on the production line Quote
