Valandor Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 as you may or may not know i work as an auto electrician building fire engines and trucks for the CFS, MFS and SES in South Australia. i hate to see the new rookies taking on the next batch of trucks we are making. all trucks have turbo standard but they are now turbo charging the pumps to get more water out quicker. why do i have various movie clips of people being lifted by the water hose. Rolla Boy Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I think the question should be: "Why have you not supplied links for us to download these video clips???" :) :D :D Quote
Valandor Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 coz we havent started making them yet. but as soon as we do links will be supplied Quote
coln72 Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 My old man runs a workshop for the CFA in VIC and some of the stories he tells are incredible. Eg. after a truck gearbox let go they sent a group of people out to collect shrapnel from peoples front lawns and had to pick it out of a wall of a funeral home ........ the inside wall. The pieces made it through the front window and embeded in the back wall of the chapel :) or the guy who managed to twist the truck so much that the batteries shorted out on the body of the truck....... coln72 Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 at $40,000 plus in parts alone (no labour included) it was decided to right the truck off. Some of the parts that needed replacing: - gearbox (obviously) - front tailshaft - rear tailshaft - engine block - flywheel/clutch - chassis rail - various fuel/liquid lines - etc, etc Quote
