Think bezender said the dizzy was already locked up didn't he? Either way whichever way works better :yes: as planning to efi it :hmm:

 

yeah def wanna put a nice cam in there. Would a good cam for the 4ktc be the same as a good one for a 5kte?

If you want to EFI it later down the track then thinking ahead I would just use a locked up electronic dizzy. Then when you're ready to fit the efi, its just a matter of hooking the elec dizzy up to the ECU as the ignition input, because this input will also need to be a constant pulse, ie locked.

 

The reason I asked if you want to fit a cam is if you're talking a/r ratios already then you should factor the cam you plan on using into your decision.

A .48 housing will nearly have the response of a S/C, and just like the S/C it'll start to run out of legs in the top end. For this reason you would want to combine this with a very mild or even stock cam.

Now on the other end of the scale if you want to run a .64 you need to combine it with a cam that will work in much the same rpm range. When I was running a .64 T28 (S14) boost didn't come on until around 1000rpm later, but when it did it just kept pulling harder and harder the more you reved it..... which worked a lot better with my larger cam than what my T25G does.

Put it this way, with the T25G I hardly ever see the shift light as I'm better off cracking another gear and using the mid range. With the T28 I would quite often see the shift light and sometimes also find the limiter set at 7500.

In that case I don't want a 0.48 rear lol. I like to have a bit of lag so I can actually drive around off boost. Will wait till the turbo on it dies before getting another one though. First plan is to rego it. Then intercool it and set up the fuel system. Cam. Dyno tune. Leave it like that for a while then efi. Then engine wise that'll be it till Nikki gets her full license then drop in a 5k :P

hey, i'm Nikki. Matt's gf. just thought would be best to post in here saying hey, considering this car's mine and Matt's :D can't wait to pick it up and get it all fixed up and running good and proper :D

Hate to say it mate but I think you might be up for a struggle to fit 7ke gear with that turbo location.

I'll take you some pics an measurement of my engine bay and we'll see.

 

In the meantime see if benzeder can take another pic of the bay looking directly down on the engine.

Thanks si. Just sent him a text to ask if he could get that pic and also a measurement from rocker cover straight across to get roughly where the turbo housing is

He said there is 90mm from where the inlet manifold bolts to the he's to the flange on the turbo. And it's 40mm forward of the head. He has taken pics for me and I will put those up on here after work whn I can get on my laptop. On my phone now
