SportivoPSI Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Hey everyone! Here is some pics of my missus AE112R Corolla Turbo!! She doesnt want to do too much to the car, just the usual stuff :hmm: Lowered, Rims, Exhaust, CAI. I, myself, installed an apexi EL2 boost gauge last weekend, which wasnt hard to do until you find the right vacuum hose to tee into! Removed the front grill to expose the cooler a bit more. It looks more aggressive like this >| Catback exhaust is getting done tomorrow  2.5"!! Quote
Chobis Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Welcome to RollaClub. Good to see another one of these turn up. SoulSearcher and Karllos will be glad to have your company. Quote

SoulSearcher Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 HEY!!!! Welcome :hmm: Good to see another Sportivo on here (we get lonely  ) Can't wait to hear more of your updates, do you still have the grill that you took off? If it's the original one, would you be interested in selling it? >| Lesley Quote
SoulSearcher Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 PS: Love the rims on the REX  Quote
Karllos Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) PS: Love the rims on the REX >| Hmmmm i wonder why  Welcome to Rollaclub btw, is better here than Toyota owners :hmm: what can i say I'm biased haha Edited March 3, 2010 by Karllos Quote
SportivoPSI Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) hey thanks guys! never really thought about selling the grill, lol! only just took it off! It is the orginal and is in pretty good condition with know dents. Just the paint is coming off and it looked a bit tacky. No harm in re-spraying it though. Pretty easy for your self to do. Make me an offer and i'll consider  Whats wrong with your grill? If you don't have one, id leave it how it is. Makes the front look a lot more agressive. On another note. Got the exhaust done today. They replaced more pipe than i expected. Right up to the first cat. Just got to replace a 40 odd cm section at the front and it will be 2.5" turbo back, as the dump pipe is already 2.5". SOunds good though. Not too loud, just nice. Yeah those rims are awesome! And they suit my rex 100%! I get comments all the time! Have you guys got a pic of your cai intakes? Id really like to see how its done! My performance guru was just going to make up a section of stainless pipe like an S bend and sit the filter under the washer bottle behind the rhs fog light. Edited March 4, 2010 by SportivoPSI Quote
Karllos Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 (edited) Exhaust looks the goods can hardly see it! i kinda like it. Have you noticed any gains from doing it? Karl. EDIT: where have you mounted your boost guage??? Double Edit: Heres a couple photos of Lesley's car although you can hardly see the intake itself its well hidden Soulsearcher's Engine Bay Edited March 4, 2010 by Karllos Quote
SportivoPSI Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 Thanks mate. Its nice and tucked away! Doesnt stand out too much. Definately noticed some gains, especially in the throttle response. Spins the wheels quite easy now. Not that I'm trying to ruin my gf's front tyres lol! Mounted the gauge in the drivers side corner of the dash. I bought the gauge second hand and didnt think to ask if it came with the apexi mounting bracket :(. Never the less. I sourced out a Greddy mounting bracket which is the same as the apexi one. Its double sided taped to the window in the corner. I'll get pics tomorrow. It looks really neat and you don't have to bust up your dash or side pillar with screws and what not. Ive seen the pics, but like you said its really hard to see how it has been done. Need like a birds eye view pic :P Quote
Karllos Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 haha yeah il see if i can scab one for you. Ive got my guages mounted like this It works really well cause your not straining to see a guage if its mounted somewhere else. Quote
SportivoPSI Posted March 5, 2010 Author Report Posted March 5, 2010 yeah thats no bad at all! i wanted to do that in the subie. i think the gauges are too big for the in tray though. How did you get it to work? Quote
Karllos Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 yeah thats no bad at all! i wanted to do that in the subie. i think the gauges are too big for the in tray though. How did you get it to work? Well mine are just the right size to sit pretty between the Head Unit and the bottom of te surround. I'm not too sure what to do to fill in the gap atm tho. Karl. Quote
SportivoPSI Posted March 6, 2010 Author Report Posted March 6, 2010 black perspex! cut 2 holes in it for your gauges and you would be sweet Quote
Karllos Posted March 7, 2010 Report Posted March 7, 2010 black perspex! cut 2 holes in it for your gauges and you would be sweet :P I have a question... As your revs gain, does your boost stay stable or does it drop off or spike at all? Karl. Quote
SportivoPSI Posted March 9, 2010 Author Report Posted March 9, 2010 nah it holds boost quite well. Never seen it spike. Pretty sure it doesnt anyway. I'll test tonight. Quote
