Northen Rolla Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 "Lucky your with"......... oh hang thats AAMI.... sorry, my bad :( Quote
Nitephyre Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 AMI = Australian Motor Industries... the company that used to assemble Toyota's here in the 60/70/80s until toyota took over local production Quote
rjenman Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 Yeah that... I took that off my ex ke20 project car and smoothed it over... As well as the toyota badge on the back. Tip: Bog a 5 cent peice on the inside of badge screw holes and sand over the top then paint for a dodgy shave! Worked a treat for me. I'm a debadger. Someone said to me once that there are two types of people: badgers and debadgers. Debadgers like baby smooth keyhole-less door panels and blank boot lids, badgers put "GT-R" on thier R33 GTS-t... Corolla_Kid Posted July 17, 2005 Report Posted July 17, 2005 Yep I'm a de-badger for sure. VN commo boot solenoids work well on ke20 bootlids if anyone is interested Quote
ancullen Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I must be a badger (haven't badged yet, but have badges waiting to be applied). However I do like the look of de-badged cars. Quote
Ruts Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I'm a debadger - if only I could work out how to grind out or fill the corolla lettering in the hatch handle. I'll post a pic and be happy to take suggestions Quote
Ruts Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 um, bog it? yeah bog is an option but can you effectively bog plastic ? and then I'd have to sand it ALL smooth or it would look weird and having it smooth would look weird because all the other plastic bits are textured. Quote
dysolve Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 (edited) fixed it and all i used was a jack hammer and a chain saw :) Edited July 19, 2005 by dysolve Quote
Ruts Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 mmmm much better - although I think you need to get acquainted with the clone tool in Photoshop - he is far more gentle than a chainsaw. Quote
dysolve Posted July 19, 2005 Author Report Posted July 19, 2005 cut and paste works fine for me lol Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 yeah, bog it and smooth it back, bog again if you need to it's hard to sand bog on plastic because they both are different hardnesses, a power sander is too imprecise, you'd be best to use a sanding block and do it by hand Quote
