LukeAE71 Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 I agree with everything except the red interior. I'm not normally one to tell people how to do their cars, but you appear to be going with a race/japanese inspired styling? :( I fail to see how a red interior ties in with that. You're better off with a classic black interior with some comfy slightly more modern seats in the front :) Quote
Tally Posted April 10, 2010 Author Report Posted April 10, 2010 Nah your right, just love the red and white theme, we will see how I go, I personally don't think it would look to bad. Staying brown for now so close enough to black so still will look sweet. :( Interior will be staying completely stock. Quote
Tally Posted April 15, 2010 Author Report Posted April 15, 2010 Pulled the engine out from the side of the house, 4K from a '83 KE70 Corolla. Going to clean it up a bit, seems to be in good condition. Going for clean look, nothing shiney just going to do some wrinkle-coat on the rocker cover for some coolness. Plans are: 3K water-pump - So my factory heater hose can fit. Will I have any issues as I think the internal water-pump fan is smaller then a 4K one. 3K thermostat housing New fuel pump 5K electronic dizzy with Bosch GT40 - Thanks to Ryan SLO-030, shouldn't be hard to connect up Basic service New clutch with machined flywheel Try find some extractors - Have access to a 2.5" under diff stainless exhaust to suit an E7# but wondering if I could adapt it to fit Stock carbie - Emissions all ripped off and blocked. I'm contemplating later on to either turbo it for a bit of boost, or try and make it a revy little thing... should save for engine conversion though LOL Quote
SLO-030 Posted April 16, 2010 Report Posted April 16, 2010 Sounds good Tally. Dizzy is a piece of piss to hook up :jamie: Let me know how you go on the exhaust, i just bought a TIG welder. Quote
Tally Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 (edited) and we have paint!!! well in the engine bay, but its a start! Colour is 1971 Mazda 1300 Swan White, has a slight blue tinge in it, looks nice az. Only layed two coats to start with, going to lay a third thick, glossy coat 2moro for that extra shine. If everything goes to plan whole car should be done by end of the week. now I need some cir-clips for my ball joints before I bolt my front end in soon, anyone know where to get them? Cheers Tally Edited April 26, 2010 by Tally Quote
Raven Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Lookin' good. Check out CBC Bearings on South Road, Regency Park. They'll have the circlips you need :) Quote

Doogs Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Looks great Tally. Interested to know what ratio of thinners you have been using for the later coats. Cheers, Dougal Quote
Tally Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 1 part to 1 and a half for the body, added bit more thinners in the engine bay. Not even buffed yet and looks great! Quote
