twinkytodd Posted November 30, 2010 Report Posted November 30, 2010 nice work tally. interested to see front on pics when u get the trims done. definfately needs to be lower though, so the top of the tyre is inline with the top of the guard. or even an inch above. i'm sure you will get around to it :) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 The famous tomei sunny B110 That would be were my Tomei Chrome Moly A12 pushrods came from!!! Quote
Tally Posted December 4, 2010 Author Report Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) ahh thanks guys! well after I chucked the 32/36 weber on I had to come up with my own throttle cable linkage by adapting a KE70 throttle wheel to the weber. Turned out it wasn't allowing enough turn to open up the carb full so I had been driving with one throttle barrel for a week or two, I was full aware of this just didn't bother fixing it lol So after I got fed up with the massive restriction it was causing and the power I was losing, went and seen a Ryan (SLO-030) and he helped me adapt a ford throttle wheel onto the weber. And now it goes like a rocket :P Edited December 4, 2010 by Tally Quote
JJT036 Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 Looking good mate. :y: Definitely needs some more Low all round, at least by 1" or 2". Looks and Sounds like it goes hard, as explained in the Vid. Josh  Quote
SLO-030 Posted December 4, 2010 Report Posted December 4, 2010 I gotta say, what a difference having both barrels open made to the little 25. From not being able to keep up with me, or any traffic really. To being able to blaze past traffic in a fit of induction noise and old school awesome. Tally, Keep on the lookout for another one of those throttle wheels. I'll do the same to mine  Quote
Tally Posted December 5, 2010 Author Report Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) haha cheers ryan, yea goes real hard now! Changed the oil and coolant last night, still running a bit hot for some reason... just some castrol gtx and some tectaloy 90+ heavy duty coolant... Needs extractors & 2" system badly as now that the weber is working you can tell the exhaust is holding it back... Will chuck a cam in it as well and see what I can do about head porting... but need to get suspension done first me thinks... Edited December 5, 2010 by Tally Quote
Tally Posted December 17, 2010 Author Report Posted December 17, 2010 (edited) Ok so got some extractors... The are off a ke30 but shouldn't have any clearance issues. Looking pretty sad at the moment but will wire wheel, rust convert and paint them with high temp paint, should come out good. Might get some heat wrap aswell, see how I go. greenmac80 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 good work tally looking good... but i wonder... don't you plan a conversion for this down the track? if yes then why spend anymore money on the k motor... it'll all be a waste? Quote
Tally Posted December 19, 2010 Author Report Posted December 19, 2010 cheers luke yea will do an engine conversion sooner or later. but just mucking around with the 4k see what I can get out of it. Its a learning experience and these motors are the best to start learning from. So easy to work on, parts are plentiful and you can get some good results out of them. Quote
KE20rollabus Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 sounds like your tappet clearances need adjusting badly, unless you have a kombi air cooled engine?? :P Quote
Tally Posted December 19, 2010 Author Report Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) ive adjusted them since, so quiet now man and got some power back! well change of plans yet again lol... selling my weber and extractors... 4k is staying though... how engine bay is looking... parrot Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 See's for sale thread, thinks WTF? Go's straight to build thread, thinks ah ha! Suspecting individual throat induction roar?? Quote
Tally Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 (edited) haha lol nah no throat induction roar, rather the whine and pshhht of a turbo and bov yea going turb's, was going to go twin sidedraft webers as i have a set of 40's and did have a set of extractors so was good to go but wanted power so wasnt going to be viable. got some 4k-u pistons lined up so going to see how I go, searching for a 7ke efi manifold now... Tally Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 (edited) well plans changed again going twin's: need to track down some carbs, either webers or solex's off a 2TG whatever I can find at a decent price grab a linkage kit, filters and extractors and will be set to bolt on and run. was either build a K or go 4age but I will muck around with the 4K for now, if I can find a 5K ill swap over, but for now the 4K is in great condition Edited February 18, 2011 by Tally Quote
