LukeAE71 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) Hi guys, Well I logged into Ebay one Sunday afternoon and found this old girl. It was love at first sight. I went and looked at it Monday, not as good in the flesh but still worth a crack. I bidded and won ;) Here are the Ebay pics, more pics to come when I clean her up for All Japan Day. Come down and see her there in all her stock unmolested glory. It will be the last showing in that guise  Car Specs - Name: Abigail (named after my daughter) Engine - 3k Drive - 2 Speed Toyoglide First impression of the car is it is real cruisey and quiet. It gives you an impression of what it must have been like driving something like this back in the 70's. Car definitely been looked after plenty of receipts etc and she drives well for being 36 years old. Toyoglide is hilarious it changes to second at like 5 mile an hour and it's second all the way from there    I'm trying to piece together the ownership history of the car but there are things missing here and there. I like to 'know' my car :laff: As for my plans, I don't know I have enough parts at home to make 2 KE20's :) The main goal for it is to make it manual and roadworthy enough to do the Great Ocean Road Trip next year. No excuses I have plenty of time Edited February 22, 2010 by LukeAE71 Quote

LukeAE71 Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 SHHWEEET!! Good one, 68krolla is always here for people who forget that this isn't there thread or car.. haha HAHAHA I like your attitude! I read through your thread on the Datto and I can see why you couldn't chop it up  Well I had some change left over between the sale and purchase of the two cars but I went shopping for the 20 today and there ain't much left :P :blinks: Quote
towe001 Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Drive - 2 Speed Toyoglide <snipe> Toyoglide is hilarious it changes to second at like 5 mile an hour and it's second all the way from there :P  :blinks: Oh yes i how that is :( When you take off, put your foot down and it'll hold first till you back your foot or it reaches, i think, about 85. I'm tending to drive my toyoglide as a two speed clutchless manual Quote
Oh-KE Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Nice car! Looks pretty tidy/ not much rust? Can't wait to see it slammed on some mass dish rims and flares :P That is what you're going to do right? Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 Chris it has slight bits of rust here and there, mostly around the backs of the quarter windows :blinks: I am planning to get that cut out and might just get them to paint that section black since you don't see it anyway no point paying big bucks for a colour match or full roof respray or some crap :P As for what will eventuate with this thing, wait and see  Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 I replaced the broken drivers door window tonight. Funnily enough the Ebay description didn't highlight said broken window but since I didn't pay the 'Buy It Now' price the guy wanted he refused to fix it and just supplied me with a spare window. I gave him negative feedback  I have discovered that there are two different types of window mechanism where the window bolts to the winding part, and I got two different types off of the same wrecked car in my yard. What a confusing item to work on. It looked like I was going to have to change over the whole window winding mechanism to get it right. In the end I put together the correct window mechanism out of the parts from two windows and didn't have to change the winder mechanism all together. Confusing much?? I thought so :lolcry: Then the window I put in has scratches on it. Screw it I am going to put another spare I have here in later :lolcry: My spare parts KE20 has been coming in very handy of late :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: :lolcry: Now just to give it a wash before All Japan Day :lolcry: Quote
73KE20 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 sounds the goods man, can't wait to see your progress on it man Quote
