altezzaclub Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 This has turned up in the bits to be re-assembled, but I'm not sure if it is one of the many 4K bits or if it came from odd Datsun 1600 stuff which is lying around everywhere.... It does look vagualy familiar. Anyone recognise it? Quote
7shades Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Not one of those washers that goes under the rocker cover bolts to hold the rubber grommet is it? Been a while since I fiddled with a K :) Quote
dfunkt Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 it looks similar to the cap that goes on top of the dissy internals. doesn't get held down, just kinda sits on top. goes on before the rotor button. size might be a bit off (37mm might be small for a k dissy) Quote

But yeah I think it would be too small as well. They're more like 60-70mm wide. Quote
altezzaclub Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 Actually, I've just stripped the dizzy this afternoon to show the daughter, then had her fit it and time it. So it wasn't out of there, it hadn't been opened until today. I know the big cover washers you mean, I think they must have been used in Datsuns somewhere in the past. I did go and check the tappet cover washers Shades, its about the same OD but larger ID. Its is much thinner than those washers, which I was suprised to find are supplied brand new in the full gasket set. Quote
KENut Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Washer that goes behind the crank pulley bolt is my guess Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Thats what I thought it was KENut... but I'm just going from memory. Quote
altezzaclub Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 Could be... The nut has a solid flange built into it so I didn't put a washer behind it. It does have a wear pattern on both sides of the washer, but not on the inner part, so that would make sense. If anyone has a crank pulley off would they take a look for me? The inside diameter would tell us. Ta We could always have a weekly contest like this! A photo of some part of a car .... Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Just went out to shed and looked..... bigital camera broken so no pic but it is the same washer as one off my 3k/4k/5k/k engine crank pulley. Goes behind the big nut on the crank pulley. Cheers Cameron Quote
altezzaclub Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 haha! Thanks guys, we will whip the nut off and fit the washer! Quote
