Chrissso Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 just driving in mount isa and saw an old corolla sitting in an old wreckers yard..as i walked through i found this place to be a treasure trove of old corollas..there are about 20 or 30 different models ranging from ke20's to 70's. most of the old cars are complete with all running gear, motors are all in working order, and mags and rims coming out of the wood work everywhere. panels, clips, cables and most parts are all there on most models..if interested contact me and ill put you in [email protected] chrissso Quote

LittleRedSpirit Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) yeah he was once open to the public but now you have to call him and tell him what you want then he gets back to you with the parts you want...i got 5 5 slotters for $100 My brother lives in Mt Isa. Hes gonna call him and see if he can get some photos of his wheels and cars. If he says no and wont let him in its the wreckers loss. See if he goes for it. I think its a pretty shonky way to run a wrecker to say, tell me what you want and Ill find it. I find they often go out and flog around for half a day to get your part, half ruin it, or its in poor order and they put the hard sell on you to buy it cause they already had to pull it off, and they want to be paid for their time somewhat so the parts are more expensive anyhow. If I can't look at the car the parts came from I'm hesitant to gat them from a wrecking yard. Youd like to know honest mileage and see what else was there, and what the good and bad points about the car are when deciding what to get from it. Edited February 26, 2010 by LittleRedSpirit Quote

I'm with you on this, when I go to a Self Serve place I like to check things like km's etc. No point pulling a gearbox out of a car with 400,000 k's on it :lolcry: Quote
