TRD ke70 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 I don't know if anyone has posted this, Teddy said he hadn't seen this, so I'd thought I'd post it. 3KR in KP47 Starlet This is car porn!!!! Quote
philbey Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Banana's. I love the throttles, I've heard about the slide type throttle but never seen them. Wouldn't want to leave it idling too long or she'd get a half a cup of fuel build up and you'd flood it when you hit the juice! Panhard and trailing arms on the stock leaf rear end, I've often thought about doing that. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted February 16, 2010 Author Report Posted February 16, 2010 (edited) It's the only way to stop diff steer in a leaf sprung rear end. Hard to believe this was made in the 70's. But doesn't it sound FAT!!! Also, how cool is the mechanical fuel injection, and it has a dry sump setup as well. Edited February 16, 2010 by TRD ke70 Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 wow, i want is that sliding throttle thing the way bike carbies work? i remember seeing something like that on a 4k with quad moto carbies. Quote
snot35 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Now that's just a mean thing to do, posting something that is effectively made of unobtainium for us mere mortals. Quote
philbey Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 as an engineer all i can do is sit here thinking - "yeh, I can design a twin cam head" mech injection is the ducks guts, there's a joint rebuilding the Porsche flat 8's for the 917 racecars and the old school mech injection on them is crazy. I was almost tempted to write down the nippon denso part number of the injector pump and see if I can find one! Digging the way they mounted and drive the oil pump as well. Quote
Tally Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 sounds rad!!!!!! love it, revs hard!!!! Quote
Nitephyre Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 God, love the sound of an angry K :) Quote
camerondownunder88 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 That is car porn. As for part numbers for this motor you will be supprised the druy sump pump on the front of the cam and that are off the shelf. In the ebay section a few weeks back I posted a yahoo link that had a few 3K-r engine parts the dizzy cap, crank conrods etc. Stuff is out there........But sadly my bank says no :) Cameron Quote
seabiscuit Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Best Toyota engine ever made. :) Quote

Jason KE30 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 That thing is f@$king awesome. It's a shame more 3k-r's weren't made. The sound of that engine is purely orgasmic! Lovin the wheel spacers on the hubs lol. I wish I could speak japanese! :) Quote
snot35 Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I've often thought "it can't be that hard" to make one as well. One day. I saw this motor in Tokyo, I should have grabbed part numbers for you guys :) Quote
