20V_KE35 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 talking about rims....what the most biggest rim diameter for ke35 could take? width? usually here in malaysia, the rim diameter would be size up accordingly to the engine performance. if I'm using 3k, rim diameter would be what? if 5k? :) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I was almost about to purchase those rims just the other day! I had a choice of three different sets, but it is so hard to get a decent amount of DISH these days...... I was waiting to actually see a set on a car, and there is my answer.... Wheel shop here i come.... They are SWEET AS dude! :) LOVE 'Em......... Quote
demuire Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Doesn't matter what your engine performance is like. I wouldn't go above a 15" rim for a KE35. Quote
Clown Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 having 17's on the mr2 its becomin annoying, 16's seem the best for these cars unless its a show car or you have to run 17's to clear brakes. I was/am contemplating running flares on the corolla, unsure if its worth it though, plus the car will stand out more on the street with them. Quote
Josho Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 (edited) Was that price with tires? You need to come and visit to collect your rollaclub sticker Nah, thats just the wheels. Nearly forgot that I asked you for a sticker dude. When could I grab it off you? As for Bolt-on flares I'm undecided, I was waiting for IRALLY to get his on and all cleaned up before I started thinking about getting some but he never got to finishing her off. :) Edited July 14, 2005 by Josho Quote

Teddy Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 just put 18inch chromies on it, with 225 tyres, then go put a nissan badge on it & get lame supercheap tint and you'll get your mid life kicks in no time.. :) Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 the minilight style of wheel is made by many companies, performance call theirs "superlites", you may also be familar with rs watanabe's minilights, as seen on the initial d ae86 generally they're supposed to be a lightweight wheel, performance are just cheap ones, but they custom make to any stud pattern and nut type and offset you want Quote

There's also "Contessa's" can't remember who makes them... ROH? Not sure... but anyway they're the same sort of thing. Nearly thought about machining a bit off the inside of mine to shed some weight but it would weaken them a fair bit. Edited July 14, 2005 by Josho Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Oh yes, I would of loved some RS-Watanabe RS8's... wouldn't we all :) alex had a set of RS8s to suit rotor/ke1x2x a while ago, he was asking some ludicrously high price with no offers allowed and some guy paid it Quote
Josho Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 Yes, sadly with Watanabes comes a massive price tag. One day... one day. :) Quote
Super Jamie Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 i would rather spend the cash on volk te37s, they make them as small as 13" i think even 10s :) Quote
ancullen Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Volk TE37's are nice, but too many Skyline's have them. Give me a proper set of Minilites any day. And I mean the proper magnesium ones. They won't last as long as many other wheels, but hey, they save weight, and they're the proper thing for any classic car. I'm surprised your rims were only $528 Josh. I would have expected them to be more expensive. If Lola didn't already have 15x7.0 wheels, I'd definitely be considering a set... Quote
ancullen Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Of course a set of Simmons OM-15's would always do. Available in sizes 15x6.0 through to 15x12.0!!! Mmm, dishy. Quote
ancullen Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Alternatively - Simmons F15. Also available in 15x6.0 through to 15x12.0. Quote
