stevoturner Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 how hard is it to put a 5k or 7k in a ke70 slant front and what parts r needed Quote
Evan G Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 theres no point if you ask me, better off just putting a 4age Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 theres no point if you ask me, better off just putting a 4age He's asking what needs to be done, NOT your opinion... Steveo; For a 5K you can bolt it right in. You can use your 4k intake manifold but a 5k one would be preferable as they have bigger ports. For a 7K-C (carburettor) you'll need to modify the sump to clear the X member, and use both the 7K intake and exhaust manifolds due to the bigger ports. For a 7K-E (injected), mods to the sump and use manifolds as above. As well as needing the computer and loom to wire it up. Then convert to an EFI fuel system (pump, regulator, etc) Quote
KENut Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) 5K, easy. parts required: 5K, time 7K, quite a bit more difficult apparently. These have EFI and other different bits and pieces on them. Have a search on here, there is a few rides threads related to 7Ks Edit: slo 030 beats me to it Edited February 14, 2010 by KENut Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Ryan the 7kc's have the same size (inlet and exhaust) ports as any other 3/4/5k. So you can use any 'small port' manifolds. The 7ke's have oval inlet ports which are 3kBP size if you round them out (there's a pic in my project thread of when I was port matching my 7ke manifold) and the exhaust ports are MUCH larger. Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 theres no point if you ask me, better off just putting a 4age the only reason he can't do that yet is cause he is a P Plate driver and he is still on RED P's Quote
