Bamboo Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 When the wife said she wanted a civic as a first car she wasn't expecting this. 77,000 k original with a 2 speed honda matic. Have since upgraded and passed this beast onto the sister. I still get the "privilege" of servicing it!! I had a manual one a long time ago and I drove it off the clock 160km/h plus. Auto has 4.11 final drive Manual has 4.93 final drive with 12" wheels you do the math. REVS! I've still got my original engine in the shed. Mostly stock just toyed with the carb/timing. Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 I love these things, they absolutely fly, and they just rev forever...... Awesome little beast, and a great colour too, I rikey! Quote
Chobis Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Yeh thats awesome. A pretty darn sweet example. Quote

smeetsy1 Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 haha, i love these! always think they are a corolla when driving at night. the front lights and grill are so close! Quote
7shades Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 I used to have one of these many moons ago... British racing green with huuuuge 13" minilites :) Quote
leigh Posted February 14, 2010 Report Posted February 14, 2010 Sweet lil Civic!! I had a 4 door wagon one of these as my first car! Did deadly handbrake turns and huge rollbacks! Never missed a beat either! Very tidy! :) Quote
philbey Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 a dude I used to work with had one of these, brown. Dunno what the clock had on it but his mother owned from new. It was, and I say this knowing full well the emotion it stirs in people overrated. Proper overrated. Immaculate. Showroom condition. Impeccable. It still had plastic covering the door trims. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 It still had plastic covering the door trims. They were Italian/Greek I gather? Quote
Raven Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 They were Italian/Greek I gather? Careful..... Stereotyping us Italians or the Greek race isnt cool buddy. Quote
aidos Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 Careful..... Stereotyping us Italians or the Greek race isnt cool buddy. They either are or aren't? I bought my ride off a Croatian fellow. Very well looked after. Quote
Bamboo Posted May 5, 2011 Author Report Posted May 5, 2011 I've inherited the civic back from my sister. I'll take some photos soon that will make you cry. She's really run down now. Mechanicals are still overrated, but the paint is shagged. Luckily centre road has delivered. I've sourced: Full rip free vinyl interior crack free dash drivers door and guard manual conversion. This is my new winter project. I don't wanna poo poo toyotas, but a ohc 1200cc car that weighs 680kgs still flys. Look out for it next spring on the car runs. Bamboo Quote
carbonboy Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 I think this is the only kind of Honda Civic that I like (at all) & you a have an incredibly fine example! Looking good :y: My high-school Japanese teacher had one of these (he hated it though), got a lift with him (a no-no nowadays!) a couple of times & he used to absolutely flog every last bit of speed out of it. Great car :) Quote
