TIMMMAAAAYYY Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Hi guys. Is it possible to remove the ball joints from the eye of the tie rod ends? (1974 KE35 COUPE) Or should I just get new tie rods? I have never replaced the rubber boots on ball joints before.........so if someone knows how to do it.....Help me with some info please. Thanks in advance.... TIMMMAAAAYYY Quote
demuire Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Just get new tie rod ends. Rubber boots usually press on. Some have a circlip that hold them on, some actually press on. Depends what brand you buy. Quote
TIMMMAAAAYYY Posted July 14, 2005 Author Report Posted July 14, 2005 Thanks for the info guys.............I will be replacing them probly on the weekend. Quote
TIMMMAAAAYYY Posted July 16, 2005 Author Report Posted July 16, 2005 I will have to save some money before I get them. I will be doing it myself...........I am a sucker for punishment and skinned knuckles. I decided to work on my bonnet this weekend. strip back to bare metal then rust prime and undercoat. It is a nice bonnet.......has the 2 chrome air grills instead of just the slots. Quote
