kose Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) hey guys, very new to the whole corolla scene... i went and bought my first corolla 2 weeks ago, a 1982 ke70 in half decent condition  so just thought i would post it up on here to keep track on my progress, and to get some tips and feedback on the project i can't say for sure what exactly i want to do with the car in the futurem whether or not to drift, or daily....all i can say for sure is that i want it to be a nice looking car, that has that jdm look about it. so when i picked the car up it was missing a back seat, roof lining, and carpet however it did have a locked diff...which is a whole new experience for me, having only ever driven front wheel dirve cars. i'm quite sure that it's sitting on cut springs, which made the drive home in it....interesting (espcially cause i didn't have a seat belt :) ) it only has a crappy old 4k motor in, but i do have plans in the future to hopefully put a big port 4age in. yes, yes. the flare on that guard is f@$ked, gotta replace that one, and re-flare it the lack of a back seat lol so today, i sourced myself a backseat, and the majority of the interior plastics :) :) :) which is finally making the interior of the rolla a bit more respectable lol Edited February 9, 2010 by kose Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 If ya looking for some carpet try these guys http://www.knoxautocarpets.com.au/ Nice ride, I've got a flat front too. can't go wrong :) Quote

Grand Master of Awesome Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 had some fun in the rain yet with your locker? hahaha. Any particular reason for a bigport? Also, flat front > slant Quote
kose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 had some fun in the rain yet with your locker? hahaha.Any particular reason for a bigport? Also, flat front > slant f@$k i wish ROFL my lack of a drivers seatbelt means I'm gonna be thrown all over the car (also all this shitty ho weather), so once i get that done, i might just go out for a spin lol well i was thinking bigport cause a mate of a mate had one in his and said it was the way to go, but then i was talking to another mate who had an ae86 and he was saying that i should chuck an sr in... so pretty much I'm just lost, as to where to go... thoughts people.... kose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 oh yeah, and i prefer the flat to the slanty front.....just looks better  Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 run down to the wreckers and get a drivers seatbelt  keeping it n/a or turbo/supercharge? smallport comes stock as 100kw so better for N/A have a read of this to help you decide http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...ries_Engine_FAQ either way you're going to have alot of fun in it! I'm still a little bit....eh for lack of a better word as to what engine to get. i mean, a turbo would be good, but so would a superchager. i know for a fact that I'm not gonna want to keep it n/a cause the thirst for power will take over..... so prob a bigport would be best... Grand Master of Awesome Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 gotta remember the corolla is an extremely light car. don't need shitloads of power to get it to go. best option would be finding dudes with small/bigport/sr20 etc engines in their ke's or 86's and going for a ride with them see what sort of power you'd be chasing. kose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 this is true... well we'll just see where this project takes me lol right now, i just wanna get the thing roadworthied, and registered  Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 I'm also in that boat, haha. nothing wrong with 4k anyway, they take a thrashing and can do a decent skid (in the wet) Quote
kose Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 lol that's what I'm hoping for, as long as this engine can take a thrashing, I'm happy with that for now. not in such a big rush to do an engine conversion anyways....$$$ aint falling from the sky at the moment  Quote
kose Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 well today i decided to start stripping out the interior so that i can spray it black....but due to my lazyness i didn't take out the dash :) took out the centre console, all the door trims, and some of the plastics. i wanna re-trim the door trims, so that they're black, instead of the ugly cream :) so that's pretty much my short term plans.... also need to decide what colour to paint the car, I'm stuck between 2 colours, matt black or red. i was thinking matt black simply cause its so much cheaper, but I'm not 100% opinions? B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 Dude check out my rides thread, mines matt black and i made flat black door cards. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=36853 Quote
kose Posted February 14, 2010 Author Report Posted February 14, 2010 yeah i fkn love the look of yours, just looks so sick matt black.....i think that might just be the way to go onnly prob is i don't want the interior to look exactly like yours lol, i'll just try and do my own spin on the interior... and those door cards, they turned up smick, i might just have to give them a go myself Quote
