ltzgmp-ke70 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Barnsey: fair enough if thats your opinion, but most other people in this thread don't agree with you. Who cares if theyre on the radio, it means theyre popular. Quote

This thread is about Oz Hip-Hop as a whole, it is not a shit fight about selling out etc. However, you are entitled to your own opinion. Maybe just try to be a little bit nicer about expressing it. Barnsey. Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Yeah I know its not a fight about selling out or what ever, I didn't mean to come across like that... but I mean the majority of this threads about hilltops and bliss n esso? there isnt much variety in here apart from a few people who have named a bunch of others. I guess its coz I don't really listen to all that stuff much anymore as I've found a shitload of unsigned people from melbs, syd, adelaide that are pretty decent and easier to relate to. Quote
ltzgmp-ke70 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 In other news, bought my ticket for this today: http://premier.ticketek.com.au/shows/show....ab-4655da558eb5 All that hiphop love for $35 :jamie: Me and my two friends will definitely be there. Who else is down? -Leah- Quote

RedKE30 Posted October 12, 2010 Author Report Posted October 12, 2010 Time to revive this thread. Obese Records 10th Anniversary gig was Friday just gone. Anyone from here attend? Had a really great night, definitely worth it! Huge range of artists and good venue. Leah +_+ Oh man I'm jealous. I had tickets for this concert and the Melbourne Victory V Melbourne Heart game. The soccer got moved to the same night as this concert because of the AFL Grand Final. So I returned my ticket for the soccer, thinking this would be more worth going to. The night before the concert my mate who had the tickets said he couldn't find them. So ended up staying home and watching the soccer which victory lost anyway!! Dam you Heart! I was talking to a mate from work who went to the concert and he said it wasn't that good. He said everything seemed rushed and he couldn't hear any of the vocals. Spewing I missed out either way! ltzgmp-ke70 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Haha man thats such a shit story! Definitely should have come down. I do agree about the vocals, some of the male artists were hard to hear. Took a few seconds to realise what song they were singing. None the less, I was psyched to just be there and had lots of fun. Got some free demo cd's too that were thrown into the crowd. Bonus :) Quote

philbey Posted October 24, 2010 Report Posted October 24, 2010 Seeing as we're talking about "small acts" anyone seen anything of N'fa, ex 1200 techniques? I saw him at Good Vibrations a few years ago and he put on a shit hot show, but he seems to have disappeared. Quote

I saw him at Good Vibrations a few years ago and he put on a shit hot show, but he seems to have disappeared. Late reply but... N'fa has a song on the M-Phazes album Good Gracious called Keep Running. It's a great track. Heads up for the Melbourne boys, Drapht (one of the best Aussie MC's around surely?) is playing at the Prince of Wales Bandroom on December 3. He's being supported by Briggs (NT) and Dialectrix. Should be a freakin awesome night! Also, I hope you guys get as much enjoyment out of this idea as I have. Melbourne MC 360 started up a competition that he called Rapper Tag. Basically an MC does a youtube video of a cypher and then calls up another MC at the end of his/her video. Check it out at www.rappertag.com. I think Briggs, Bias B and Suffa have been the best so far. Briggs killed it, can anyone hear/see the resembalance to Biggie? Cheers all, Sian Quote
