LukeAE71 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Ok so I paid for this tonight and it will be getting picked up by my towie by the end of the week!! Originally I was buying it for parts for my brother in laws 20 but after looking at it tonight I might have fallen for it. A few ideas I had for it: 1. Hillclimb/Track Day Special/Drifter/Super Sprinter 2. Mild Street/plus no.1 3. Street Car 4. Cut it in half and turn it into a trailer 5. Summernats Special Convertible Might be too much work to sort out rego to get it back on the road which is why some ideas don't involve rego. When I get it here I will be able to make more of an idea of what to do with it. Some options for engines include: 1. 4AGE 20V (I know I know already done that with my other car) 2. 13B J Port with Weber 3. Hot 5K So yeah plenty of ideas and probably still more to come!!!! I want it to be a budget build so that might throw most ideas out the window ;) The only pics I have so far: I know - doesn't look like much but all the trims, lights, bumpers etc come with it :D Quote
seabiscuit Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Great car :D For the plans you've got, why not go a regular 4A-GE? Unless you turn it into a trailer... ;) Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 No.4 No.4 No.4 No.4. You know you want to Luke. Quote
Tally Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 How many KE20s u got now man? didn't you get that green one off ebay? surely that was a better base??? seen ur wrecking thread, which one are you wrecking? Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Green Ebay machine is happening :D It will be on the road in the next few months ;) I have two now, and mixing and matching parts from each of them. Some parts will be surplus to requirements therefore the wrecking thread. I'm on the hunt now for as many 20's as I can get my hands on regardless of the condition :D This shell is actually quite clean and straight so I have mixed feelings about it. Originally it was going to be chopped in half but I don't know if I can :P Quote
ScottKE1X Posted February 5, 2010 Report Posted February 5, 2010 Hey Luke I recon you should wait til you get a hold of this beast and see if it a resto, only chop it if you run out of other options... You could buy a shitter and swap all the parts over seeing its a clean shell Scott. Quote
SLO-030 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Have just seen some new pictures, I'm LOVIN IT |blink| Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 It's slightly lighter now!!! Chopped it up today, and before you guys get all patriotic this thing was rooted BEFORE I chopped it Quote
ScottKE1X Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) haha, it better have been rooted!! |blink| Does that mean you got so excess parts?? so make one have a trailer and the other half a BBQ, Couch or Esky?? Post the pics!! Edited February 6, 2010 by ScottKE1X Quote
LukeAE71 Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 You read my mind Scott!!! I was thinking of scrapping the front half but maybe it would suit as a BBQ!! Yeah the car was fair rooted for some reason parts of the roof were buckled, looks like it had been on it's lid at some stage! Also plenty of rust in the front chassis rails etc this thing had sat around for a while. But still plenty of good parts salvaged from it for projects and also to make the rear half into a trailer. I'll post some more pics when more chopping occurs. Also, have to deliver it to my Design Chief Ryan to see what magic e can weave on it. I want some ideas on how to make the trailer part really effective and cool |blink| Quote
ScottKE1X Posted February 7, 2010 Report Posted February 7, 2010 get some pics up ASAP! I wanna see this thing. I did a ke70 boot esky once, kept the diff in and rear seats so it could be rolled around and also used as a couch... I'm keen for the whole front struts and brakes if you don't need them... Quote
