jono1986 Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 If you end up removing the original brakes i'll take them off your hands in a jiffy, will pay for postage.... Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 If you end up removing the original brakes i'll take them off your hands in a jiffy, will pay for postage.... You want Girlocks don't you Jono? Make sure its a later model '55 as the earlier '55's had Sumitomos like KE30's ;) Quote
Kriso Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Jono as soon as I have some replacements lined up I will be selling everything from the car engine drive line brakes whole lot as it's all getting up grades I will check what calipers are on there for you and let you know if there the ones you want you have first dibs on them Quote
Kriso Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Red I have allready done a search, I want to know of a straight bolt on caliper an disc that is around not cut and weld stuff to make it fit Quote
Kriso Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Jono - the calipers on my car are girlock calipers Quote
silverra23 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 xt130 corona struts and brakes will fit without cutting and welding. you just don't convert them to coil over and use a normal lowered spring. easy. you will need the corona steering knuckle too. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 assuming you are running a k engine: make sure the vac booster is working well. install slotted rotors, girlock calipers and bendix ultimate pads from the rear of a vn commodore..... nice new fluid, rears adjusted well, possibly ke5x import drums on the rear (larger). should pull up great, and won't increase unsprung weight :) Robert. silverra23 Posted February 8, 2010 Report Posted February 8, 2010 girlocks are ke70 i think.. and run the same shape pad as a vn commodore. which is good cos lots of people have performance pads available for that caliper :) I have a set on the shelf I shoudl sell come to think of it! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 girlocks are ke70 i think.. and run the same shape pad as a vn commodore. which is good cos lots of people have performance pads available for that caliper  I have a set on the shelf I shoudl sell come to think of it! Girlocks are on late KE55's and KE70's. So Kriso the ones Rob83 is talking about is what you already have. PM me a posted price for the ones you'd got silv. I need some new pads. :) Quote
JiP Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 Late KE55 and all KE55 Hardtops & all KE70's. Quote
rob83ke70 Posted February 10, 2010 Report Posted February 10, 2010 you'll need something bigger with a turbo engine.... slotted rotors and performance pads in the standard size would be brilliant for a k motor, but go heaps faster and you'd need something bigger. our cars are all minimalist things, small engine, low weight...
