Gnaget Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 Can I make a 2/3T hybrid engine ? thinking about a 3T with 2T head. coz the 2T has more power in less volym. But a 1.8L 2T hybrid. Has this been done? how much more horsepower then stock 2T ? Stock 2T has 102hp. Thanks Quote
white_sandshoe Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I would assume you're talking about a 2TG head onto a 3T-C block??? There was a thread not long ago dealing with this conversion... I believe the end result is more torque for less revs not so much a power gain. Quite an undertaking though... you'll pretty much need a complete 2TG as front housings, chain guides and all that will have to be transferred across. Pretty much everything except the block and internals. Even then, depending on the block, it's possible to slot the 3T crank and pistons into one of the 2TG blocks without too much trouble. Quote
bucky Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) i had a mate with a 2tg 3t hybrad in a t18 it went prety well two. i think he may still have the engine I'm not shur thow. but if you hav any questions i could ask him for you Edited February 1, 2010 by bucky Quote
Gnaget Posted February 1, 2010 Author Report Posted February 1, 2010 I'm meaning a 2T onto a 3T block. As I know ,my countrys old toyotas doesn't have the 2TG. only aware of the 2T and 2TB. Maybe It's easyest to go with a complete 3T and have 10hp less then the 2T Quote
towe001 Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 2t, 2t-b, 3t - I'm pretty sure the heads are the same but the cams are different Quote
Grand Master of Awesome Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 Have a look at www.3tcgarage.com Pretty common on there I believe. If you can't find anything on it there just ask, plenty of dudes that know a lot about 3t/2t motors on there. Quote
Gnaget Posted February 2, 2010 Author Report Posted February 2, 2010 Thank you all for the info Quote
