dbr11k Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 well i finally got around to doing some work on my motor, i have been building for a while now (about 2 years now..). I'm converting a bigport into RWD, and i ran into a bit of trouble, I'm not sure what parts i have but i think i have, a rwd pump, with 4ac rear housing, and i think the front water outlet is off a fwd (it has a temp sensor). the water bypass for the thermo stat doesnt line up, so i was thinkin maybe silver solder some L shaped pipe into the rear housing an run a rubber hose, has any one done any thing like this before?? oh by the way, yes i am too much of a tight arse to go buy the proper bits lol. I'm also not running the heater. Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 well if you want to be really tight what you can do is just glue a pipe in each one and run a short rubber hose between them. I used normal epoxy for my engine. This obviously isn't a 16V but you get the idea Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 forgot to mention if you want something turned up let us know Quote
dbr11k Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 ok awsome so epoxy would be enough to hold the piece of pipe in ? also i take it you mad that large radiator pipe your self? or can u buy them off some one? Quote
kiahn Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 id imagine that epoxy would not be good due to the high amount of vibration Quote
Sam_Q Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 well I did it and its good now for about 4 years. Although I don't suggest it, I did use a normal epoxy. I say go for JB-Weld. There are two types and one is rated for high temperatures, use that one, mix it well and you shouldn't ever have any problems. Quote
