.T. Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 clips are very hard to find second-hand. same as t40 type box. if buying secondhand make sure they supply you the right parts - i've been supplied supra parts as t50 in the past (they don't fit) best bet is to prob buy new - if toyota still stock them T Quote
LukeAE71 Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 The clips are available from Toyota and are less than $3.00 each. Call up about them, or if they don't know what you're talking about go down there and they should be able to show you a pic of them on a blown up pic of the box assembly. I bought a pair early last year ;) Quote
corollaart Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 (edited) Yes can still buy new ,got some two weeks ago pn 31232-22010 toyota .total of $6.50 rob Edited January 22, 2010 by corollaart Quote
Prewer Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 i lost one clip, put one one, worked fine for me. Pulled boxx out other month as undergoing engine transformation, noticed no clip in there at all.. so from my use i suggest it is possible to roll with no clips... Quote

They are there for a reason, and for 7 bucks, I'd definately use them. Quote

Chief Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 i think i remember someone typing on his thread saying drill a hole and get a torque head and bash it in the drilled hole but i thought i would just make sure before i go killing the block lol Quote
Chief Posted March 2, 2010 Author Report Posted March 2, 2010 lol when i had read that last post it was too late i f*&ked it hard soo i drilled it out and tapped it poorly it wasn't my best work lol thanks for the help thou lol but now i have put it all and i went to test the hydraulic clutch it wouldn't work i had it in first and it wouldn't budge soo i read around and people that had done the same type of hydraulic system that others have done but they had to lengthen it soo i continued with the lengthening of the rod coming out of the master cylinder and it still isnt working soo i took it out and because i have never done a clutch before i was wondering if i have done it right a read a few bits on putting a clutch together soo i tried that it all seemed to go together well so i figured i would take a few photo's before i put it back together and too see if i have done it right Quote

Chief Posted March 2, 2010 Author Report Posted March 2, 2010 Yes i should start rereading before i finalise the post lol. Let me start with the decoding of the glyphs... Well i have proceeded with the clutch as per your instructions and i think i must have something backwards because my hydraulic clutch system should work soo I'm looking at the way the clutch is put in as it might be the problem Quote

The clutch disc will usually only go in one way. If you put it in backwards then it will be broken perhaps. All bound up inside and wont spin. Hard to say but it doesnt look well aligned either. Need more info and better photos. Quote
Chief Posted March 2, 2010 Author Report Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) yea the clutch seemed to only go in one way but i thought there might be a secret way that i didn't know about. How do you mean by all bound up? and does the clutch aligning tool only make it so that the spigot bearing goes in because i had the gearbox on fine. There was once where i thought it had worked, because the car rolled back when i put the clutch pedal down but i thought i might have made it up in my head because i had a headache from spending too much time upside down trying to get the pedal box in and i didn't get it to work since. thats for some pictures of it Edited March 2, 2010 by Chief Quote

Otherwise the spline looks like its aligned and the clutch is wedged in there properly. I don't understand why it wont work. From here you should just have to make sure the throwout bearing and clutch fork are in right and sitting on that pivot/clip thing properly. Do the 2 little clips up on the fork and then bolt engine to box. The bolt on the slave and bleed it and it should work. If the hydraulics arent moving maybe its time to reco the slave or the master for the clutch. Edited March 2, 2010 by LittleRedSpirit Quote
