Just the springs for now, i'll let it dry out then cover it in tape and do the black Engine support underneath thing And what ever this thing its called. Think it's meant to cool the motor or something Edited February 22, 2010 by Johno Quote
Johno Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 (edited) I was bored last night so i edited the look of the rolla a bit, tinted taillights, and lowered with the 2" exhuast. :P Looks better if you click on the image Edited February 22, 2010 by Johno Quote
Johno Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 More work has been done :lolcry: Went to the wreckers again on Tuesday and got a few more parts. Rear seatbelt, Rear disk rotors, front twinky thermo fan, coil cooler hard lines and drivers side wire loom. :lolcry: Tues and Wed night, I finished painting most of the parts so they are ready to bolt on Ae94 brakes on the old seca I took another day off to work on the car today. I gave it a good crack today and got quite a lot done which I'm really happy about What I removed today: Hand brake lines Full exhaust Rear drum brake setup Headlights and indicators Front bumper and guards Wire loom Radiator Lower engine mounts Most heater hoses Everything but the Drive shafts is undone ready to lift the 4ac out  Tried to undo the drive shafts but then remembered i had already removed the brakes on the rear so jumping on the brakes while another person unbolts it was not going to work, next idea i had was to put the wheels back on and remove the center cap on the mags and unbolt it but my 30mm socket is too shallow and wont fit over the nut so i called it a day. Pics :lolcry: Bought myself a new toy.. It was a full complete car this morning.. not anymore :lolcry: Almost ready to lift out.. :lolcry: Quote
greenmac80 Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 keep the pics flowing man! love the progress. Quote

Johno Posted February 26, 2010 Author Report Posted February 26, 2010 (edited) Well i spent another day on the rolla, well about 5 hours anyway. It was not quite as productive as yesterday but did get some things done. Some things i wanted to get done but couldn't because parts were wrong :lolcry: I got the Drive shafts undone, had to put the wheels back on then lower the car on the ground and get underneath and unbolt the drive shafts from the gearbox, :lolcry: Got the left hand front hub assembly off ready to install the twinky hubs and shockers but couldn't put them on because the holes need large bolts. :lolcry: I got the fuel tank out, old fuel lines, put the twinky lines in, cleaned out the twinky fuel tank (been sitting outside for 1.5 years) Went to install it then thought i better change the rubber fuel hoses so thats tomorrow's job. The other reason i didn't put it in is because i forgot which line goes where :lolcry: I tried to install the rear disks but the rotors wont fit over the bloody hubs, the hubs are too big :lolcry: so off to the wreckers again tomorrow. I had to pull the air con system out aswel because the front end is a bit different on the twinky, thermo fan sits outside to allow for exhaust and the air con lines are in a different spot to allow for the oil cooler. End of todays work Tomorrows plan is go to the wreckers again for rear hubs, front hub bolts and fuel filter harness. Go to mums to grab a few more bits for the rolla Go to auto shop for new fuel hose and hose clamps Wouldn't mind pulling the 4ac out and start cleaning up the engine bay, got me a new can of spray paint  Tomorrow will hopefully go smother than today :lolcry: Edited February 26, 2010 by Johno Quote

Johno Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 (edited) Update for yesterday, I picked up my 4age engine from the mechanics Got the twinky rear wheel hubs from the wreckers Pressure cleaned the engine bay and front end Went to fit the rear hubs but stripped 2 of the threads in the rear knuckle :hmm: Went back, got another knuckle, fitted it, all good :y: Fitted one of the rear disk brake setup Finished front L/h side strut/shocker setup with Ae94 brakes Edited February 28, 2010 by Johno Quote
Johno Posted February 28, 2010 Author Report Posted February 28, 2010 Update for today, Fitted off the r/h front hub Assembly hired a engine crane pulled out the 4ac installed new thrust bearing for gearbox fitted C52 gearbox to 4age started cleaning up engine bay ready for transfer One thing, i have a massive problem with the steering. both front wheels are pointing in heaps. I could hardy push the car on flat ground with 2 people. I think the problem is the twinky hub Assembly is suited for power steering only because the steering arms are too long and thats whats pushing the wheels out. I'll try to adjust it another day but it needs to go in about 1/2 inch on both sides, oh yeah and the left hand hub bearings are screwed. More set backs.. Errrghh :hmm: Quote
Kid-Ae Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Awesome progress mate!!! This thing will be an absolute beast when done :hmm: Kudos to you for taking the time and effort into making this car right, first time :y: Quote

Before that it was almost black After a quick freshen up with paint All ready for some 4age power.. :) Edited March 1, 2010 by Johno Quote
