Should be able to find a bit of info if you search on ausrotary.

Yes they are good, but yes they are also expensive - Mainly because theu use new or professionally reconditioned parts.

I have had a chat to Peter at hoppers in the past about his setups for corollas, of course he told me they were good but did give me a look at what you get.

Basically you end up running an xr8 brake setup from an au on falcon, they are almost overkill on thee little cars but engineers love them. You can have whatever stud pattern you like ( I want a kit to go falcon pattern anyway) and you need 15 inch wheels as a minimum. If you want serious overkill you can option up to a big brake kit that needs 17s or bigger.

But really, if you want good brakes that will be engineer approved have a look at what kangaroosa is running, much cheaper than the $1200 odd starting price at hoppers and you don't end up changing the wheel track too much, you probably stop as well if not better too.

Hopefully my rant helps!

I know Peter well, i have used him for small work in the past , Eg making up special size brake lines etc.

I have seen his kits first hand and i can tell you they are top quality. They do use big brake calipers and u must run minimum 15inch wheels. Pete does state these kits are made for cars running high performance engines, They are over kill if your running a smallish engine . These kits have been engineered, and seem a little pricey, but when u think of pricing up standard reco calipers pads/dics/brake hoses/ wheel bearings for a ke20 your looking at a few hundred dollars alone for brake setup thats pretty poor.

When it comes to safety and using high performance i can't see $1200 being that expensive really. To save a few hundred dollars and do some other conversion and then have to have it engineered will cost u nearly as much . His kits look very neat and very professional . The kits only go over $1200 if u want slotted or drilled discs. I think its an extra $150 . Standard discs are fine he said to me.

I got a quote for my ke55 which was priced as follows:

4 stud kits:

Smooth disc kit $1300

Slotted kit $1400

Cross drilled and slotted $1450

5 Stud kits:

Smooth disc kit $1250

Slotted kit $1350

Cross drilled and slotted $1400

I'm going for the 4 stud cross drilled and slotted

but only because i have more money than sense :hmm:

Can I suggest you don't get cross drilled. You really don't gain anything from it except for an excellent crack propagation site.

I second that. How many race cars have you seen with cross drilled disks?
