baggus Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 (edited) My ke70 has developed a rather annoying diff whine, had it up the hoist today and removed the backing plate there was a bit of backlash/ delay when spinning the driveshaft, the spider gears looked a bit shagged but all teeth were there pinnion and crown looked ok, few things I would like to know a) what's the most common bearing to go in a ke70 rear end, axle bearings or pinion bearing as my whine is continuous even while coasting which are symptoms of both bearings, b) if it was from the slack within the spider gears would welding them together stop the whine? Any info would be great. Edited January 12, 2010 by baggus Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 a, Why not just replace the lot!? You need to remove the axle to get the centre out, then its just a matter of removing the pinion to change that bearing too. b, yes. Quote
orangeLJ Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 couple banana peels will stop it whining for a while if the noise is getting to you. Quote
