Hey Guys,

A question for all of the auto leccy's out there.

Where can I buy wire to suit making a loom. (With colour traces)

I can't seem to find any.

I'm going to re-wire the front end of the 38 to suit the hidden wiring and need to find out where to get it from.

P.S. NOT the 7m rolls of single colour from the hardware store.

CHEERS

Ryan

Thanks Frosty.

Evan, Its meant as no offence to you, i just pissed meself when i read it.

nah none taken, i nearly fell of my chair when i read it to! :S

better off just making a loom, all you need is different colour wire and some electrical tape

Thats the plan Evan. That way i can incorporate all the extra's in the one loom (MSD, gauge wiring, etc)

with 25 different colour combinations in the stock engine bay loom i need colour traced wire :lolcry:

Try an electrical wholesaler like Haymans or Ideal.

They sell or can find multicore cable.

I've gotten 32 core control cable before. Pretty much it's 32 white numbered wires bundles in the one cable.

They might even be able to hook you up with trace wiring or singularly numbered wires.

At a last resort you can buy cable labelling kits - not ideal but a possible solution

Thanks man, i messaged my old boss and he said Realport traders on the corner of south and grand junction road supplies my old workplace, but i don't know if they do private sales. Will give them a call tomorrow and one of us should have atleast one supplier

OK, just rang RealPort Trades and they supply for both commercial and private sales, normal 3mm² 30m rolls is about 10.50 a roll and 100m rolls are $36.50. But the trace wires (white/black, red/black etc) only come in 100m rolls at $36.50 a roll

I'll post this in the SA's recommended list, Haven't bought from them yet but the guy was really helpful over the phone

i recycle... i strip old wiring loom leftovers from peoples halfcuts etc. That way i can wire up conversions as per factory colours. Its cost effective as well as easy to diagnose.
