I'm so mad that none of the commercial stations could be bothered broadcasting it live. We totally missed out on it. 20 years ago every station (just about - think we only had 3) broadcast it live, for 12 hours straight. I remember it. At least we were part of it then. This time we missed out, and for what? Some tennis crap?? There werent even any Australians playing!

It's totally shameful, and the moneygrubbing brown-nosing bureaucrats who run the media missed the whole point of the event. :P Poo to them with knobs on!

-end of rant-

Yep i'm watching it too. Its not that often that you get such a broad range of "Excellent " groups together to play some great music for a great cause.

I'm surprised how good some of these bands sound. Usually the older bands sound nothing like they did back in their time, but most are exceptional.

I'm a bit over the whole political statement some of them have made though. I hate it when "celebrities" get on stage and use the spotlight to talk political crap. Although their hasnt been that much of it, so its quiet refreshing.

Yeah, I watched a fair bit on Austar last night. Bono gave me the shits with his preachy bullshit. I mean, the guy doesn't even pay tax, so he could definitely donate a lot more to the poor. The whole finger clicking thing that Will Smith got going didn't have that big an impact, clapping would have worked better. But most of the acts I saw rocked, especially Black Eyed Peas, Duran Duran, and Green Day! It was a bit of a pity the London concert started with Paul McCartney though (and I'm a HUGE Beatles & McCartney fan). Whilst I can see why they picked Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band as the opening song, I think something a bit more rocking would have been more poignant. Like American Idiot by Green Day. Now that went off!!!
