greenmac80 Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 i seriously need this car for when i get my license back. and i'm doing things on the cheap!! lol and will do things on the cheap. i've come to realise that my other car is massively long term and as i come to needing parts i will get them then. tackle one thing at a time. for the moment the other car needs fab work. once thats done i will buy the stuff i need for paints. the sussy then engine then interior. so yeah. everything will get done in good time. greenmac80 Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 there a pretty hefty dent in drivers side guard? or that just the pictures? looks pretty damn nice, clear over base is a very good system!! we use it for all metallic's but solids generally don't. very rarely that we do, easier to only have to paint a panel once (twice if you have to wet on wet or plastic prime) than two or three times! is your paint water based or solvent based? yeah there is a dent. there are quite a few dents. i painted this rather quickly i spent as much time on it as i wanted to. i'm basically cleaning it up jst a bit but i didn't want to spends ages on bodywork. so yeah paint is nice but there are dents. meh. lol paints are all solvent based. Murd 55 Posted February 13, 2010 Report Posted February 13, 2010 no they arent, we use water base, very rarely we use solvent based. only a few colours that we do as the waterbased version looks terrible when colour matching, one that comes to mind is a goldy brown statesman. other than that all water based. greenmac80 Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 no sorry meant all MY paints are solvent based. Quote
