Dropz Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 This thing is moving along nicely, a great read. It's gonna be one tough little car. Love that your doing all the fab work yourself, wish I had those skills. Quote
RKE020 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Hey Luc, Looks like the beast will live again soooooonnnnnn !!!. The piccies don't do justice to how much time the mod work takes. Keep up the good work, talk later. Al :) :hmm: Quote

greenmac80 Posted January 2, 2011 Author Report Posted January 2, 2011 cheers guys much appreciated.. so i didn't get heaps done today... removed roof lining removed the black gooey shite that sticks the windows in.. this took ages and tried my patience big time. removed rear bumper and masked the car up. will do some panel beating tmoz morning and some bog work. hope to have the first coat of high build primer down tomorrow arvo.. bit optimistic methinks though. greenmac80 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 well didn't get it primed... got too sunburnt and also i want to leave the bog a bit to set... so turns out rain is due at the end of the week so i need to get it primed sometime this week.. its very close to being ready for primer.. well today i finished my sump off. cleaned it up sandblast and powdercoat... also redrilled the bell plate and now it fits like a glove!! and also powdercoated the engine mounts. i also welded the pipes onto the intake flange. i have the throttle body tube designs done. jst need to fab em out. bmxsexmonkey Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 is there any seepage in the sumo now? Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 dunnu... won't know till it goes on the car... i welded it up pretty good... but i won't know until there is oil pressure. Quote
SLO-030 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 (edited) If you want to find out if the sump leaks before it goes in the car, fill it with Kerosene. Will seep thru any pinholes/ cracks faster than oil. Edited January 4, 2011 by SLO-030 Quote
greenmac80 Posted January 4, 2011 Author Report Posted January 4, 2011 hmmm used water and its all good... that seeps quicker than oil... but its the pressure i worry about. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 cars coming along nicely dude, looked gd today. Cheers Quote
Dropz Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 there wouldn't be much pressure in the sump though as its basically a drain bowl, the pressure is in the galleries. 1 Quote
