Dropz Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Starlet engine sounds good, those things are quite zippy. Don't some models come blown from factory, or are they turboed? Â off topic but another Rolla that needs flares, but is killer none-the-less: http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?PriceFrom=462&R=9063439&tsrc=allcarhome&silo=1011&__No=285&__Nne=15&__D=utility&seot=1&__N=1216%201282%20462%20443%201622&trecs=472&__Ns=pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Ntt=utility&__Dx=mode%20matchany&Cr=7&__Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&SearchAction=N&__Qpb=true&keywords=&__Ntk=CarAll Quote
greenmac80 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 some came turboed. mine is from an ep91 BHP is 88 so not too shabby.. i want to be different plus the engine is dirt cheap. 80xxx and full service history for $250!! Â most likely down the track i'll either work on this one or buy a 5e and do a nasty hybrid engine. Quote
13BT_KE20 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 AWESOME! Â think you should go turbo though down the track Quote
e70van Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 what rwd gearbox fits behind a 4E motor? Quote
greenmac80 Posted November 11, 2010 Author Report Posted November 11, 2010 None. I designed a bell adaptor plate and have had it laser cut to adapt it to a t50 Quote
beerhead Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Dude, love the KE70 guard mod you've done, really gives it a bit of stance. Can't wait to see some fat wheels under there. Later. Quote
greenmac80 Posted December 10, 2010 Author Report Posted December 10, 2010 Cheers bloke! Me too. Not any big updates. Been workin on my dizzy relocation kit. But yesty i did pick up my bell adaptor and flanges and every thing is accurate and fits so at least my cad skills seem to be good. Car is off the rd as of next thurs so expect some updates coming then. Quote
greenmac80 Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Ok so bell plate is almost finished jst gotta have some studs installed and i can bolt it up. So far the car has been 90% stripped. Engine is gone. So panel work will be full steam ahead as of sat. Stay tuned. Quote
SLW42 Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 Just something i was thinking about too, as your going to use kesev flares, i was wondering have you thought about ve commondore front flares??? They are wide enough as it sits on a commondore, and i could only imagine them being huge on a rolla! Just a thought :hmm: Quote
cuzzo Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 On the rear flares, are they pretty solid? or a bit tinny like the front panel they came from? (solid like the old rears) Â I'm thinking i might have to do this on mine and it will solve the punch in pass side rear guard! Â Any protection against rust for underneath the new flare(where the old guard was cut?) Quote
greenmac80 Posted December 21, 2010 Author Report Posted December 21, 2010 Its solid as. No problems there. I was worried a bit about structural strength but i did a lot of talkin to people in the know and the consensus was that its negligable. So basically i cut the old guard out. Panel beated the shit out of it to make the inner and outer meet again. Drilled a bunch me holes and riveted the two together. Chucked a bit of weld on it as well. Then i welded the arch on. Been driving the car for quite a bit like that and noticed no difference to the handling even on hard cornering. So i'm pretty sure the car is still strong. Quote
