thanks man, so same as they use in the 4a conversions? should i be nice to it behind the 7mge?

Thanks for the comments everyone, i am leaving the wheels at least until the tyres are done, the sheet i had on the wheel fell off, 2 pack is a prick to clean off too.

The car got delivered with no oil in the sump, and as a result a faint tick which imo would quickly turn into a knock, so i decided to save the crank and fix it now before i get it on the road. 7mgte i wish, but don't need the extra work for now.

I noticed now that i have rolled the engine over it has an mls head gasket, so that problem has been seen to...which makes me happy.

Nah man this is a steel case W box (W40 & W50 only), you're thinking of the alloy case W boxes (W56, W58 etc) that they use behind 4a's.

Saying that though they're still a bloody strong box. Wasn't uncommon to find then behind 300rwkw 13bt 8-9 second cars back in the day. Dellow also made a bellhousing for these to be used behind 202's and small blocks.

Remember back 10 years ago when you were an enthausiastic kid looking at car magazines. Anything that listed it was running a "Corona 4 speed" was using a W40.

FYI - ARP also do torque to yeild head bolts for 7m's.

Nice!

Good job on the wagon.

Great colour too. Looks like you've spent a bit of time on it, after your initial purchase wasn't what you expected. Well done for keeping up with it and making it a success story.

Thanks man!

Progress today, had rdo before i head away for work again.

Dropped r31 axels off to get restud. Bought new wheel bearings.

Got flywheel machined and picked up new clutch.

Picked up roof lining.

Ordered 6.5 meters of generic rubber seal for my rear quarter windows, at a cost of $150! ouch!

Then after all that driving in the overpowered hyundai (at least it goes)

i assembled bottom end with newly machined crank and bearing, rolled her over, put fresh clutch and flywheel on, and sat the engine back in the car.

roof lining in, not an easy task, the guy who made it told me i picked some very difficult material.

Rear side glass in, very difficult again, had to get the missus to help me, give me a windscreen anyday after these annoying things!

Pulled the old diff out today to make way for the skyline one,

problem is i reefed on it too hard and sent the whole lot off the stands, luckily the jack was still under one side so it didnt hit the deck too hard.

was just balancing though.
