Zoidburg Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Forgive me if this has been asked a million times before... I have a 1976 KE-30 coupe and would like to remove the 3K and replace it with a 2TG. Does anyone know if the 2TG motors are relatively easy to come by and whether it's a straight forward (bolt in) conversion? Thanks Quote
styler Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 easy - mountings, gearbox, tailshaft, shifter... hard - 2tg engine, 2tg rebuild, 2tg parts, exhaust, fuel supply, conversion to hydraulic pedal box, possible diff upgrade, twin carbs rebuild or weber dcoe, spinning wheels - lsd / diff upgrade... toyota_ae71 Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Perfect^^^ Doing a 3tg conversion and yeah might have to go down to the local corner on a friday night to pay for everything :) But seriously, if you want good power, cheap upgrade... go 4age. Still have to do most of the things said above. But it'l be worth it in the long run! Probably why its such a common conversion. Quote
Zoidburg Posted December 23, 2009 Author Report Posted December 23, 2009 Thanks guys, If mounting everything will be relatively straight forward, then I think it's worthwhile. If the engines are hard to come by I guess I'll just have to be patient! Cheers, and have a Merry Christmas! Quote
