B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 30, 2011 Author Report Posted January 30, 2011 New tints wont be done till I get my central locking, kill two birds with one stone. Plus wanna sort the defect. And the guards look pretty much the same as before, except all the bog is f****d as I couldn't be bothered finishing them. Was more worried about getting it started so I could get to work. :P Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) *Arches fingers Excellent. 3 coats, 24 hours to dry between coats. So I need 72 hours. I think I can do it over a weekend, the sh*t is made in Iceland so the curing time might be for their climate. Also got remote central locking. So tints, walls and central this weekend. Plus I have to re bog my guards. EDIT : Damn me and my cheapness, central has terrible instructions on the side of the box that consists of a black and white wiring diagram. No-one but people on here would understand spending that much on a car that looks like mine. EDIT: plus no good stuff this weekend. No installs. Helping Ella get his new ride. Will be PIMPED for All Jap day. Edited January 31, 2011 by blzbub666 Quote
Ella Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 if you want ill sort out the central for ya? i f@$ken hate wiring but its the least i can do after we waste the weekend going to get my rolla lol. Quote
19914afc Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 wow $4500, I'd hate to think what ive spent on mine  Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 I try my best not to calc the amount I spent on mine..I'm to scared...I'm guessing its around $562  Quote
SLW42 Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Just don't try to sell it for 4.5k :laff: coz that is just silly hahaha, plus with your car being a daily/project you can't really afford to have it just laying around, Plus if mine looked like that i wouldn't let it lay around, i'd be out pissing the :fuzz: off with all it's greatness hahaha, Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 1, 2011 Author Report Posted February 1, 2011 4.5k is conservative. And another big purchase (engine) if I get my belated work bonus soon. :y: Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 What conversion you thinking off? 5k? 4age? Seen you been reading through some 5k threads :laff: Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Probably just a worked 4 or 5k. It'll all depend on when I get the money and what is available. Quote
SkidzMgee Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 (edited) But spread $4,500 over the time you've owned the car, and it's probably not too bad for a car that looks nothing like the original photo. I know CommoHoe owners who drop that in a month and the car looks like stock except for the 20" rims and Toyo Racing Tyres... Much more value for money and time well spent if you ask me ;) EDIT: The central locking should help with insurance and put you in favour with cops because your securing your car from other drivers? :P Edited February 2, 2011 by SkidzMgee Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 Central is only central, no alarm. Still can't afford insurance. Still struggling with the GFC, floods and my first mortgage. 4.5k is only rough, and its probably been a lot more, I can understand those guys who get to a point where their cars owe them 50k. It kind of freaks me out, because if you have seen it in person it looks like I haven't really done anything. :blinks: Example : you don't realise the brand new black door trim garnish U clip things were 65 bucks!!! Its the small things that add up. And then you add postage on a lot of it. Also tools you buy along the way, this is my first proper build. But like I explain it to my missus, there are more expensive hobbies, and a lot of them you can't do in the garage at home so you can change a nappy if you have to. :y: Also : Defect is off. I can't stress how cool sunny coast cops are. He didn't care, just wanted to talk about my car. Signed it off no worries. Quote
Spencer[RL] Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Probably just a worked 4 or 5k. It'll all depend on when I get the money and what is available. I like the fact everything can go backwards and forwards betweens the 2 different model engines(4k and 5k) with some tuning a tweaking.. I might go fuel injected if i can find a good priced 1, my mate is a auto electrician so let him install it  When my car get defecter which it prob will , coming to see you to get it rego'd :) Quote
SLW42 Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 sooooooo central locking is central locking?? What did you expect?? Install an imobiliser and a alarm into it, never expect full comp on a ke man, if you do want it you'll probably pay through the ass for it, Lucky about the rozza's being in a good mood and letting ya off defect :y: i bet ya cheering Quote
