carbonboy Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 I'm loving the work you've put in! :y: I reckon a black blanket on the dash for the win! The discovery of the metal scouring pad in the panel reminds me of the Top Gear US Special where they're pulling newspaper out of the Cadillac. :laff: I'm with you on the spider thing...daddy longlegs will happily watch me bleed my brakes, the little jumping ones are kinda cute, but the aggressive, venomous ones suck! Usually only get redbacks (mostly males) & white tails down my way so I don't envy you. :( Have taken to wearing gloves when playing with cars that have been standing for a bit, I don't like sticking my hands where I can't see them. Keep it up! Quote
towe001 Posted May 13, 2011 Author Report Posted May 13, 2011 Well i bit the bullet last week a bought a new clutch plate. Seeing that i couldn't get an exedy plate i got one from clutch industries. Clutch Industries on the left, Exedy on the right Both clutches are heavy duty. Or at least the CI one is. Bit like comparing paper and cardboard. And the CI clutch is stiff like cardboard and can feel it through the pedal. Unlike what the Exedy was like. And it was cheaper. But the turtle is back on the road again  Next steps on the car will be a bit more rust work and see about getting up to gympie, not just to see the parents but also a mate who has the efi gear from a pulsar that i can grab. So hopefully i'll be converting the car over to efi some time later this year. Quote
towe001 Posted June 16, 2011 Author Report Posted June 16, 2011 :hmm: A couple of angle brackets and a length of 75x25mm RHS The bit that i'm holding is to be welded to the other bracket. The bolt goes upside down (bolt head to the bumper) and the nut screws up to the bracket acting like a clamp. Another angle bracket for the lower driving light. Bolts to the back side of the bumper bracket. Quote
Crowie55 Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Are you preparing for a zombie invasion with those lights? Holy moly you'll need a 30sec time delay and warning buzzer for those nearby as well as government clearance papers and ASIO phone approval. But seriously that is sick and you'll defiantly be safe at night. Quote
Clapped out Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 yyyyyyeeeeeeeeesssssssssss! do it! Quote
Old fella Posted June 17, 2011 Report Posted June 17, 2011 Off you go out to Bunnings to get the two stroke generator to power them and then go singe the hair off slow kangaroos. Not to mention blinding fruit bats and low flying owls. Just do it, cool as. Quote
towe001 Posted August 4, 2011 Author Report Posted August 4, 2011  All i need now is a pair of giant uhf aerials, a truck exhaust pipe, and some cowboy and B & S stickers. Nar just a bigger alternator..... Quote
towe001 Posted August 12, 2011 Author Report Posted August 12, 2011 Been thinking it over time and time again and i guess the bullet has hit, i'm going to have to let the turtle go. We can't really afford to run two cars and even knowing i love to drive a manual i'm finding it easier to drive the lancer cause its auto. Just have knee problems nothing to do with the clutch. And since i'm going to move the turtle on, everything else i have for it (spares, parts etc) can go with it as well. I wouldn't have any need for the stuff. Was thinking around the three grand mark. Too much ? Throw me a PM and we'll go from there. But do remember this is everything Quote

towe001 Posted September 3, 2011 Author Report Posted September 3, 2011 Starting to throw the idea around of turning the thing into a speedway car. Just have to find out if we can run an auto in it or if it has to be a manual. 1 Quote
