towe001 Posted February 24, 2010 Author Report Posted February 24, 2010 Thanks guys  I'm kind of toying with the idea of the old style toyota emblem between the speakers, just to break up the space. Starting to hang out for tax time so i can have a bit more money to throw into the car Quote
JiP Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 So what are those bushes for? What are the larger ones for to be exact? Quote

JiP Posted February 26, 2010 Report Posted February 26, 2010 The word your looking for is Shackles. Quote
towe001 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 Thats the word - Shackles. Thanks mate. Not really happy with the chariot at the moment, some things draining the battery. Anyways, while i'm figuring that out i've begin working the fuel gauge Quote
towe001 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 Worked out what was draining the battery the other day the oil pressure gauge, believe it or not. So i think over the weekend i'll be re-doing the wiring for the gauges through the acc wiring this time round. Have the extra bushes for the shackles on order. Fingers crossed i can get them this weekend. Apart from that not much of a update Quote
towe001 Posted April 9, 2010 Author Report Posted April 9, 2010 Finely had the chance to fit up the rear bushes over the long weekend. And also swapped over the leaves from the '55 that i once had. The spring set at the back (away from the tools) is from the '55. I added the bottom leaf from the '30 to the '55 spring sets as well as using the front bushes, the ones from the '55 were rooted compared to the '30's which still looked fairly new. The car now has a slight rake to the front instead of that stupid tail dragger look. Also stiffened the back end up a bit as well In the process of removing the stripes from the car - being a bit of a bitch cause it looks as if some parts have been glued down. Also added a left hand mirror. Slowly making headway on the planned manual 'box swap - picked up some bolts for the flywheel, just need to get it machined and lightened (?). But also at the same time i'm loving the auto how it snaps into second with i gear up. Have the gear down worked out with a blip of the throttle and theres no jerk in the drop down. Need to get a bit of camber into the front end get some new tires for the back end and a power upgrade Quote
towe001 Posted May 14, 2010 Author Report Posted May 14, 2010 Power upgrade came in on thursday in the way of a 5k. Thank you very much Phatke20 (aka Doug) Now comes the next step - 5 speed manual or 3 speed trimatic Been trying to get an anchor point fitting into the car for my sons booster seat, but someone down the line, it seams, doesn't want to get off their arse and give me the paper work so that i can get it done. towe001 Posted May 31, 2010 Author Report Posted May 31, 2010 Finely got the info i needed for the child restraint anchor. Bloody long time in the wait but. Oh well at least i can now get to do something about it. And the flywheel $20 to get it machined can't get any better then that :D was thinking of getting it lightened by about a kilo, but bah i'll keep it as it is (7.8kg). Quote

towe001 Posted June 12, 2010 Author Report Posted June 12, 2010 Hoping to be able to do the engine swap this long weekend. The original plan was of borrowing a hoist from a workmate last night do the swap over today so that i could spend the rest of the weekend getting the turtle running. But that fell on its face after i got over to the dudes place and realized having a ute would have been so much better. So i asked my brother if he could help me with it today - but he had work today. So my work mate was going to see about bringing it around for me, since he was going to be over my way after he finished work but that fell on its face. So now its fingers crossed he (the workmate) is able to bring it around tomorrow morning. Cause since i've been bored and restless half the car has been pulled down for the motor being pulled....
