ancullen Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Hmm, I have a feeling only the early 4G63's (VR4, Evo 1-3) would bolt onto the Starion transmission. After that they swapped it 180 degrees, I doubt it'd bolt on anymore... Then again, I could be wrong :P You'd be right about that. Quote
ancullen Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 4G63? try 4G64 out of L300 or triton and use evo head, already RWD. 4G64 is a 2.4L engine with even longer stroke than the 4G63. Similar blocks though, I think. 4G63 is the better engine Quote
Ratty Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 if your fitting an aftermarket ecu to a rwd 20v, just do away with the dizzy and use a crabk angle sensor. yes 20v head fits other a series, like 5a and 7afe. even 2a Does that mean no chop chop on the firewall? And how hard are these crank angle cenors? How much roughly? Ta ryan Quote

ancullen Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Mitsubishi 4G6x Engines 4G61: Bore = 82.3mm, Stroke = 75mm, Capacity = 1596cc 4G62: Bore = ?, Stroke = ?, Capacity = 1795cc 4G63: Bore = 85mm, Stroke = 88mm, Capacity = 1997cc 4G64: Bore = 86.5mm, Stroke = 100mm, Capacity = 2350cc 4G67: Bore = 81.5mm, Stroke = 88mm, Capacity = 1836cc 4G69: Bore = 87mm, Stroke = 100mm, Capacity = 2377cc The 4G69 has Mivec, it's the motor used in the Grandis. And for those of you interested, the current Lancer (regular version, not Evo) uses the 4G94, which has 81.5mm bore, 95.8mm stroke, and a capacity of 1999cc. I hear Mitsubishi are considering putting out a Ralliart Lancer to bridge the gap between the VRX and the Evo. It's meant to be getting either a Mivec 2-litre or a 2.4L engine. If it is the 2.4L option, it'd probably be the Grandis motor, which means the engine mounts and gearbox bellhousing would be all set up for 4G63 engine swaps! Quote
