altezzaclub Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Looks factory, like it should have been produced... Its going to be quiet to drive, not like a KE70 at all! Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 10, 2014 Author Report Posted May 10, 2014 That was the idea. Wide enough to get wide tyres and wheels. But still look stock unless u know The cars well. Took it for a spin today and thus far it's pretty quiet. But atm. I'm missing my crash pad (had to be reworked). 1 door trim and my rear seats. Also both driver side door have yet to receive dynamat treatment. Here a few more pics. Trim and stuff. Wheels repainted. Driver seat. And I'll throw this in. A Photoshop with white walls. I reckon I'll do it at some point Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 How does the balance of those wheels feel? Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 10, 2014 Author Report Posted May 10, 2014 Fine hey. The tyres were put on by a mate so they haven't even been balanced yet. Got up to 90km/hr no wobbles. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Yeah right...maybe I just had some dodgy ones. Ohh well long gone now. They are still farken heavy though. Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 10, 2014 Author Report Posted May 10, 2014 No heavier than the 17's that used to be on it. I should be getting some more trim pieces back today. Pretty excited. Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 11, 2014 Author Report Posted May 11, 2014 Small update. Got my dash pad back. So that can go back in today. Also got console lid and gear boot back. Rego this week. Be hitting the streets soon. Unfinished unfortunately but nearly. Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 19, 2014 Author Report Posted May 19, 2014 photo bomb. Driving and loving it. so far only top half of rear seat back but looks great Quote
greenmac80 Posted May 20, 2014 Author Report Posted May 20, 2014 i know right?!! lol the wife is driving it more than me atm sad panda!! Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 So i popped the motor in this thing again. got new wheels 15x8 0 offset grid classics. will be putting a replacement motor in it and selling up. building bigger and better things now and need the coin. Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 24, 2015 Report Posted June 24, 2015 How did that happen? I thought these modern motors were bullet-proof! Quote
greenmac80 Posted June 24, 2015 Author Report Posted June 24, 2015 nah the 1zzfe in these have some pretty bad oil baffling. or lack of. Basically with the new track and tyres (and low oil) not empty but low. hard corner lots of revs = spun rod bearing. now i found its really common on the racetrack to kill em. and there are aftermarket replacements. BUT the 1zzfe in the mr2 toyota improved the internal baffling to ensure it never happened. Quote
