For safety reasons, you carry two reflective triangles and an OK / + board in the car. The triangles go out up the road to warn following cars that there's a buggered car ahead, and the OK is to say just that. On the other side of the OK board, there is a black cross on a red background (see previous pics of my car), which means "help". If you see that, it means that someone is hurt, and you stop and give assistance. The car behind then also stops, takes details and goes to the next radio point to get help. :D

The system works! :)

Isn't there any communication via CB radios in such an event? If not, I wouldn't wanna be hurt bad and in a hurry for medical attention..

There's an ambulance at every rally, and often a First Intervention Vehicle (FIV) which follows the field. The Ambulance stays at Rally Headquaters until required. All Rally Cars have good first aid kits. Every 10 kms or so is a radio point in contact with Rally HQ and stage start. A lot of the time UHF and CB's are useless because of surrounding hills/mountains. Rally organizers ensure the SOS points are in radio contact. The FIV stays at stage start until called upon. Often there will be more than one FIV due multiple stages in operation.

It's quite an effective system. Trust me! :D
