TUFFKE20 Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Well the story goes It was 2004, I was in Year 6 at School, I was & still am crazly into cars, I used to look at this corolla When i went to school as it was one street away from school. Me & My old man where looking for a project that me and him could carry out together. I knew my Makes & models when i was in year 6, But a ke20 wasnt one that i knew, & i was looking in the trading post and seen ''KE20 Corolla, Half in primer, Rust free Body, Original 80,000 Miles'' Little did i know it was the car i looked at before school every day. Soon after looking at it, it was at my place & we started work. It was sent for a Paint job, & Basically it sits how you see it in the pictures now. I havnt touched it for a good 2 years, As i have a Done up Holden Gemini, & Also a Daily Ke70. So all my ke20 has been doing is sitting in a garage coverd in sheets. I always say one day ill get around to it, As there is really little it needs to get it on the road. I really don't want to sell it, But i would if the right offer came along, I have Rarely Seen ke20 1970 Models around. Let me know what you think, I Aim at having it on the road With a nice motor in it by the time i am on my full license. Quote
Chobis Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Mate this car is bloody nice! I have seen pics of it somewhere before. Have you had it on eBay? I can't recall exactly, but I know I liked it then too. If I were you I would hold onto it, finish it off and use it as a weekend cruiser when you get your full licence. I love the white interior. Gives it that crystal clear window look that I love so much. Please don't tint the windows! Quote

I Wouldnt dare tint the windows, I had tints on my gemini & i got them stripped off, The way i see it if you have a nice interior why block it with tints. & Like you said it gives the car a nice clean crystal clear look. I only need my rear seat retrimmed & exhuast, & Its all finished. Then to set it right off, Lower it 2'' All round. Then a few Finishing touch's Edited December 7, 2009 by TUFFKE20 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 .........The way i see it if you have a nice interior why block it with tints. Remember that the major enemy of interiors is sun light and UV rays! :) So you could re-frase the above to "....if you have nice interior why not protect it with some tint"!!! :( Quote

I'm with TUFFKE20 though. Let that sweet interior be seen. Also I don't like tint on any classic cars. I reckon it looks way too 80's. My FB Holden surfy wags had tint, but that was a looooong time ago and it still seemed okay back then. ;) TUFFKE20 - My tip.... do as you have planned........ get the seats and exhaust sorted, lower it and enjoy! By the way.. this is a wicked car for someone who is still yet to get their full licence. Well done. Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 I'm still undecided on the matter. Because the pillars on my front quarter windows are black and the black rubbers on the rear quarters stand out against the white car so much, I'm thinking I will tint. But no for sun protection as the car will always be under cover (when not on show or driving). I would guess this beautiful 20 will spend most of it's life under cover as well? Looks fantastic, the lines look perfect in the pics! Quote
TUFFKE20 Posted December 8, 2009 Author Report Posted December 8, 2009 This is my other baby, It had tints all round, but i removed the tint of all but rear window, Its also now got white venetian blinds looks awsome Quote

Thats what my daily Ke70 is for ;) Quote
