LukeAE71 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 So you come on here telling us you will get it cheap just so you can then come on here again and sell it to all of us for an inflated price :jamie: Congrats, its people like you that make this place shit. If you don't want it do the right thing and let someone else know where it is so they can buy it. If you try and sell it on here can a mod please ban this person grr you grind my gears :D Quote
anastasios Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 there mustnt be that many wreckers around perth, someone start searching! Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 A little over the top don't you think Luke? If he want's to try and make a buck let him, don't flame him just cos he didn't do it secretly (which probably would have been smarter :D ). I've got no problem with people being fortunate enough to get a bargain and then trying to sell at normal value. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 A little over the top don't you think Luke? If he want's to try and make a buck let him, don't flame him just cos he didn't do it secretly (which probably would have been smarter :bash: ). I've got no problem with people being fortunate enough to get a bargain and then trying to sell at normal value. No I stand by what I wrote. If he had been more discreet about it then it would have made it marginally better :D I just don't see why because this is an enthusiast forum people feel the need to blatantly profit from each other in this manner :jamie: If you are going to do it though, do it in the right spirit and hand a cut over to the forum owners who allow you to advertise and make that profit for free  Quote
dfunkt Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 i'm with luke on this. if everyone had a shot at buying this initially (from the wreckers), then the buyer can onsell it for as much as they want. but blatant profiteering where only one person can buy it initially who plans to onsell it fairly quickly for an inflated price......it's just not cricket. :D now, if they want to tell everyone where it is with an address or phone number for the wreckers, so that others may purchase it now, that'd be the gentlemanly thing to do. dF Quote
anastasios Posted December 2, 2009 Report Posted December 2, 2009 Also it is not as if he has contributed to the forum, he is just using our brains to make money, which is a bit dirty to be honest! Quote
seabiscuit Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 He could be intending to get it ready for a RWC/Rego for people. Lots of people make money by buying old cars and fixing them up to a "drivable" state and then sell them for more. This guy around the corner from me has a new car there every month for sale that looks like he's done up a little. Some even do it as an income. But if he is just buying it and selling it, that's no good :D Quote
philbey Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 guys it's his prerogative what he does with the car. Don't turn the thread into a shit slinging match. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 yh its in perth an the guy whos selling it doesnt want that much for it so does any one think i can get $1500 for it as is cos i no they are rare but the problem is tryin to get people to buy it If it had been a 2 door and a KP60, i would have paid more. But not interested in a 4 door. Good luck selling it, but i don't think many people on here will buy it. Quote
spongebob101 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Posted December 3, 2009 this is partly my fault for not saying that i was going to buy it and clean it up and sell it, but on the other hand if ur going to start giving me shit then go post somewhere else. I'm a apprentice mechainic and i like my old cars and all i want to do is clean it up and get experience along the way, there is nothing wrong with me doing what i love best and thats working on cars so if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it (didnt you mother tell you that) all i wanted to learn from this tread was if i was going to buy it and put some money into it would i get it back with abit of profit when i sold it. So who ever you are luke i don't care what you think so next time you start giving people shit try and get your facts 1st. thankyou for the people who was on my side with this childish argument. LittleRedSpirit Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I think hed be able to get a couple of grand for it if it was tidied up some. Id be curious about owning it. Itd be a nice rare daily. $1500 is not much to pay for a car thats rare as hens teeth and a potential racecar. But seriously, I challenge all the haters to be honest and admit that they buy things cheap if they can and sell for more. Its called business, making money, income. Capitalism, its how the world works, even in china these days more or less. Its time to accept it as a reality. I don't care who you are, what you claim is honorable, or what you say you would do in his Starlet finding shoes. It makes perfect sense what hes doing. At lest hes being honest about his intentions. 90% of the people hating him probably couldnt even get a grand together to buy it at the moment so I say good luck to him. At least it will end up in the hands of someone who wants it, instead of that wrecking yard there rusting away and looking sad. Id give you $1500 if you could send it to me in Brisbane, unreg. I'd rather do any work on it myself. Provided its not completely rusted out. I almost bought a 323 3 door once cause it was the closest thing we ever had to a starlet. Quote
imprezd Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) i would be knowing where this starlet is it even has air con runs well and not much rust except in the hatch rest is mainly serface rust.... Edited December 11, 2009 by imprezd Quote
twisted2 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 i seen it today when i was picking up some rims :hmm: Quote
