so blew my stock clutch and i bought a 4 puk NO CUSHION. i know that the less puk it is the harsh it is for daily driving(start stop start stop peak hour traffic driving).....and they tend to breaks boxes and shit want to sell the clutch to get maybe a 5 or 6 puk?

but before i do that just want to get an idea of how it feels. does it breaks boxes depending on how u drive? pros and cons all that shit

EDIT:

the clutch does have springs in the centre? pics below also from what i could find from exedy (which was a bitch to do) clamp load is 5400 what units I'm not too sure.

as for power goes i am/ will be putting 80-100 killwasps dnt think i can drag it up anymore without spending serious bucks! it is mostly used as a weekend warrior and if its up to spec it will get some track time. start stop thing only happens if i get stuck in peak hour which is pretty rare as i usually avoid this. i live close to the city as well so this can be counted as some what start stop start stop

reason i am putting a button clutch in is becuz i want it to engage really good compared to a stock or jst a normal hd one. happened to have this 4 puk lying around if it were to me i would hav a 6 puk but that cud happen depending if this 4 puk is that gay

Racing clutch, I wouldn't even bother with it or any button clutch on the street.

I have a 5 puk ceramic button cushioned clutch (about the softest a button clutch will get) in my silvia and thats enough of a pig that I wouldn't use it for daily driving.

its not exactly a daily....mostly a weekend warrior possibly get some track time and a cruiser now and then but jst concerned about how harsh it is....ive spoken to a few people and their at the 5 - 6 puk and i driven it and it feels good(6 puk) i havnt really driven on a 4puk before and having no cushion sucks!

jst wanted to know if its worth keeping or jumping from a 4 to 5 puk much difference in daily driving heaviness on the foot etc

i have had several button clutches in mine, i have found none of them to be real harsh at all,

in fact, after a fair bit of adjustment the latest one is like a normal clutch.

Apparently they don't get as many ks as a normal clutch though.

as far as breaking gearboxes goes, it all depends on how you drive,

I am a prick to manual gearboxes and have not owned a manual car that i have not broke the box in, not to mention diffs...........

edit. If your clutch plate has no springs in the centre it is a full race version, not real friendly at all.

Ive used buttons in all my cars, my current doesnt have one but as soon as it needs changing its getting a exedy 5puck.

I don't think they are too bad used to drive my cars daily in traffic, just need to get the sprung centre one.

The unsprung ones are no good for daily stop start traffic.

+1

Cushioning in the clutch plate is going to make WAY more difference than how many pucks it has.

i have driven with a few cushion button clutches, if you use it correctly then it would be fine on the street. however it may get annoying for daily driving, esp start. add to that id prob be inclined to pop it a little and spin the wheels like a bogan and ya don't need that kind of attention.

unless your putting out big power id just go for a exedy HD full faced clutch.

also if you brought a chinese/ebay puck clutch I'm not sure of there quality.

HD clutch. Don't even bother with the button until your pushing 250hp plus. With the amount of power you've got you're not going to gain anything from using a button clutch over a full face HD... Aside from possibly broken gearboxes and frustration.

Edit: yes it's sprung.
