KETURBO25 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, i noticed this picture in the rusty relics section which was put on by Tally, the lights really appealed to me,it was of a ke25 coupe and i seen these tail lights and i personaly think theyre the best tail lights ive ever seen on a ke25, they almost look like rotary tail lights out of a Mazda Capella. My question is this, can someone please tell me what they know about them? Id love to know what model they came out in and what country cause I'm pretty sure they wernt released on any Australian models, but i could be wrong... :) Edited November 23, 2009 by KETURBO25 Quote
bernieboy Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Those are the '73 TE27 Sprinter Trueno tail lights. Only Japan had them. Cheers Bernie-Jay Quote
KETURBO25 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks dude, i want them quite badly. Quote
bernieboy Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Thanks dude, i want them quite badly. There was a set on ebay about a couple of months ago that went for $760. They're worth quite a bit. I've been trying to find a set myself for years. Quote
KETURBO25 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 Id be willing to pay $800 for sure, probley wouldnt go much more then that though... They are the best lights for a 25 ever. Quote
bernieboy Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Yeah they are the best tail lights for TE27s or KE25s. The '72 Sprinter Trueno tail lights are not so bad either Quote
Tally Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 personally I l like Levin/standard late model KE25 lights... BUT Toyota did make a few combination for the rear end besides the ones you mentioned :) those ones will be hard to get haha, early sprinter ones... Quote
Felix Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 Definitely the nicest ke25/te27 tailights made. Cheap takeoff of the Mazda RX3 savana styling. Quote
KETURBO25 Posted November 23, 2009 Author Report Posted November 23, 2009 Agreed, i want them soooooo badly, i will not rest until they are on my car. Quote
snot35 Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 $800 for tail lights? Are you people serious? :) Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 23, 2009 Report Posted November 23, 2009 $800 for tail lights? Are you people serious? ;) Go price a set of genuine NOS RX3 savanna "T-cups". :) Re-pro ones go for upwards of $2k. Quote
mattress Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 Some people obviously have no idea of the cost of things. Then again i think some people pay way too much for things too. I have 2 sets of new lenses for a KE10 which i payed decent money for. On the odd occasion i get a pm saying " i'll give you $50 or $100 for a spare set of your lenses". I politely tell them i don't really want to sell but it would take a lot more than that for me to let them go. Quote

KETURBO25 Posted November 24, 2009 Author Report Posted November 24, 2009 $800 for tail lights? Are you people serious? :) Hows $800 expensive when thats what theyre worth to everyone? What you have to understand is, these tail lights hold theyre value, and they will be worth more then that as soon as they hit Australian shores. To be honest, $800 is pretty cheap for Trueno lights. In 10 years from now, when theyre simply ungetable, who knows how much theyll be worth? Ive done up so many cars the wrong way over the years and ive learned that you don't get any satisfaction from going second best. Bring on the tail lights!!! Quote
bernieboy Posted November 24, 2009 Report Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) Definitely the nicest ke25/te27 tailights made. Cheap takeoff of the Mazda RX3 savana styling. Not quite. Square or round tail lights were very common styling for JDM cars. Take a look at Datsun's KPGC10 & PGC10 GTRs & Mitsubishi's 1970 GTO MR.
