'78rollacoupe Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 Has anyone done or know of a lexus v8 being thrown into a pre '80's corolla? reason for question is that those motors are not expensive & make good hp. I don't like cross breeding engine & body, so the lexus is perfect :) Quote

h1_roll4 Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 ive seen a few 1uz ae86s. Josh young has one in his 86 drift car he has a rides thread on ae86drivingclub.com.au also, i think theres a ke70 around with one in it. Quote
kiahn Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 can be done with extensive firewall mods, you would nee the entire drivetrain from the donour car and ask oke20 about what problems he cam acros Quote

Josh Young has sold his original 1UZ AE86. I think it was painted out of its livery before it was sold. $16000 rings a bell? It sold for something around that. I believe he is working on another 1UZ powered drifter as we speak. Ultra low, and twin turbo. Its gonna be nuts. Pic borrowed from NissanSilvia.com Edited November 20, 2009 by LittleRedSpirit Quote
mungi mods Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 biggest issue will be steering box and pitman arm clearances on a 70 the biggest issue is exhaust and weight balance, it will fit without firewall mods but its an extra 40 kg over the frontend bellhousings are available from A1 auto's in NZ to suit a w5* or r154 gearbox will not be able to register either ......................
