unever Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 My radiator is farked, any suggestions for an upgrade, or am i better off just getting it reconditioned? Cheers Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Go the recon, or a custom aly one. Cost the same to replace as it does to get a little aly one made... or did last time I checked (~$300-$400). Quote
styler Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 to upgrade the easiest way recore using 3 cores or custom 3 cores not a bigger radiator. Quote
coln72 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Squeezed a KE30 radiator into mine but it wasn't the nicest fit........ Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 I have a VN commonwhore rad in my '55. Inlet/outlets are already in the right spot, just need to lengthen the top hose about 100mm wich can just be done by cutting to hose and inserting some old steel pipe. Only issue I would forsee in a ke20 though is weather it would fit width wise. Quote
coln72 Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 It wont :S a KE 30 radiator is too wide for a 20 Quote
philbey Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 Yeh 10 and 20 radiators are really narrow so unless you want to chop chop chop away it's difficult. Quote
KEhendo Posted November 12, 2009 Report Posted November 12, 2009 i'd say just get a reco one or an alloy one made to the same size and fit a shroud. i have a reco-rad and shroud in my ke20 and i have never had it over heat. the only time i saw the temp start to go up was after 20 min in stop start traffic on a 30 degree day.
