Doogs Posted November 11, 2009 Report Posted November 11, 2009 (edited) G'day all, Sorry about the late notice but; I work part time at Nunawading Maccas amoungst my study. As part of the "Mc Happy Day'' fundraising efforts one of my managers has asked me to help pull together a little car show to help get punters in the door and donations in the tins. For those of you who don't know, it's the one day of the year Maccas donate some profits and work at fundraising for seriously ill kids. http://www.mchappyday.com.au/ http://www.rmhc.org....ome/default.asp The general idea for the show is to have some clean Classic era cars, and other tough cars down between 12 and 2pm over lunch. Anyone who brings down a nice car will get a free lunch and drinks as a little thankyou. I have orgainised for a few cars from elsewhere but we are still struggling for numbers. We are only looking for a total of about 15-20 cars, so even if only 6-10 rollaclub cars or so could make it that would be awesome. I have heard another bloke is organising for a few cars to come and I have no idea of the style or standard of these. I guess that if a little group of rollaclub guys can make it, then a fun day could be had and maybe a cruise afterwards ? My manager said it would be good if people could be arriving by 11:15 to take their places, but I doubt you would need to be there that early. If anyone who is able to come can let me know, then we can save spots as required. Cheers, Dougal Edited November 11, 2009 by Doogs Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted November 13, 2009 Report Posted November 13, 2009 If it was a bit closer to my place I would be there in an instant, fantastic cause. I hope the day goes well, JP Quote

One of the girls in drive-thru came up to me a little after you guys left and said some bloke had come through asking about the cars. He said he was a cop and that they were "unroadworthy/registered" and he would get someone down to check them out and he wanted details about them. Seriously wtf ! :) You guys are down there for a good cause and not harming anyone and causing no trouble. I hate it when cops/the general public pick on car enthusiasts as a group especially when we are minding our own business. Spose your timing was good when you left. I think all your cars would have been fine, and I noticed as Grant left in his hatch that it was quiet so that should not have been a problem. Even still, I think it was an unreasonable response from this bloke. Quote

It's a shame that some of them are like this whereas some just love to have a good honest chat about your car. But you get that everywhere unfortunately. Quote
KEhendo Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 wtf. some people need to get a life. even so, my car is stock apart from the wheels so i'm not fussed if they did want to check it over. Quote
