Saru Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 (edited) I have an old KE30 sitting in a paddock that i'm hoping to get running today. It's been off the road for 2 years. Hopefully (touch wood) a bit of love and she'll at least go. I'm wondering what oil would be recommended? Also I suspect the points are rooted, are these off the shelf items? Is there anything else worth touching before I start it up? Edited November 10, 2009 by Saru Quote
BReNt Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 Just try starting it and see what happens. I've started Corollas that have been sitting longer than that and all I needed was some new petrol and a fresh battery. Quote
philbey Posted November 10, 2009 Report Posted November 10, 2009 I'd check oil. 20W50 is all you need, forget spending dollars on synthetics. Points are easily found as well at any local parts store they're likely to have them in stock. Quote
Saru Posted November 11, 2009 Author Report Posted November 11, 2009 Thanks for your help guys. Couldn't believe it after a bit of tidying up, filling the points a little, spraying some WD40 into the pistons, pouring some 20-50w in, hand turning it a few times, and a big jump start... off she went merry as anything . can't wait to spend some time with this car. A bit different to my skyline :S. Quote
