From the days when men were men, and trees were nervous.

No commentary, no music, just the sound of horsepower.

BDA Escorts with Clarke and Waldegard, and a wild Celica with Hannu Mikola at the wheel. Best youtube vid I've seen in a while.

FWIW, an asociate has a replica of the Escorts, and it puts down 235hp ATW at 9000 rpm, from an NA 2 litre. (Yes, his is 2 litre, he has a BDG in it.) It also sounds every bit as good as the video.

Love it!!

Its got my Stratos in!! They couldn't give away the road-going version when they had to make 500 to homologate them!

The Bogans across the corner here have the house up for sale & had to demolish the garages (no permits I assume) There is a Mk 1 Celica covered in junk sitting there, just like the one in the RAC, with "Sillicar Racing" on the side.

my god, that's been the best 10 mins of my day. :S

Yes great footage and sound.

The crispness of the sound from the Celica was awesome. Does your T motor sound like that Rob? My god.

The triumph looked at home on that tarmac but a bit lost on the dirt. I think the escort may have popped a wheel on the tarmac as high as Ive ever seen it done. Cool, but Id reckon quicker with more rubber on the road.

Ahhh, pure awesomeness. I had a stratos pass me doing god knows what speed at the Goodwood Festival of speed while walking around the rally track.....i stood amazed for about 30secs after it with mouth wide open.

wicked.

I've not seen a car pick up an inside front wheel that far off the ground in a long time.

I'm guessing these dudes are running a lot of rear brake bias with that twitchiness

Cool vid that.

Love the sound of a ballsy NA motor, nothing like it. Really into watching vids of Marc Fleury and his 300 odd HP S14 (BMW motor) powered E30 drift car atm.... Not really a fan of drift, but that guy is great to watch doing demo runs on hillclimb circuits, plus his car sounds so good.

In some parts it looked like they were gonna fall over or something because of the brakes.

Stratos looked awesome, they sound pretty retarded though. I love how they have mammoth wheels on the back, and sakata biscuits as wheels on the front.

Great vid. :y:
