Jason Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 (edited) i think its cool, then again i like most dutsuns. WOW just noticed the price tag! Edited June 23, 2005 by Jason Quote
Tiger Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 $10K for an NA 4AGE swap into a Datoo 1200 ute with a new paint job and a cd player/seat/steering wheel upgrade.... Try $5500 or maybe $6K... not $10K My 2 cents worth  Quote
Banjo Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Heavens, why would you ! I once worked for a company that had one of those little Datto utes for a town run-a-round, pickup thing. It was horrible. So light in the rear end I could just about pick it up. It handled like a shopping trolley with arthritus, and I can't image adding extra power without lots of work to the suspension would do anything to improve it. However the 4AGE seems to drop in nicely. Looks like it's got more room than Fook's 4AGE in a KE-35. Maybe this guy had a bigger trye lever to shoe-horn it in. Like the blue cam covers to match the body work. Oh well, everyone to their own taste. That's my 5 cents worth ! Quote
demuire Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Datsuns tend to have bigger engine bays than Toyotas of the equivalent size. Hell, SR20's fit into Datsun 1200's without too much mucking around... Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 TEN GRAND!?!?! holy crap, wade sold his for 11.5k and it had gze + lsd + s13 brakes!!! Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Its a nice install, but i don't like datstuns.... A guy i know wants $8k for his rebuild 1.3L powered datsun ute! + new spray job..... Quote
Super Jamie Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 there's one for sale in lismore atm for 5k Quote
Nitephyre Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 although it looks nice, and it sounds like the engine has been rebuilt decently.. even with new rubber bits in and out ($$$$) still, dunno bout $10k Quote
demuire Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Old Datsuns (1200 utes in particular, it seems) also seem to fetch higher prices than equivalent old Corollas... Although parts tend to be cheaper! Quote
Redwarf Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 1200 utes are the AE86 of the Datsun world. Quote
99 Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Old Datsuns (1200 utes in particular, it seems) also seem to fetch higher prices than equivalent old Corollas... That's cos they're BETTER yet another example of Datsun's superiority!!! Quote
NickZ Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 Just what I'm after...but i not paying $10,000. Quote
rjenman Posted June 24, 2005 Report Posted June 24, 2005 I really don't see what the big deal is about datto 1200 utes... they're not THAT cool... Quote
