Ke70 Aircon

i got a ke70 1983 an it doesnt have aircon but i would have thought that the fan on the aircon controls would still work but it isnt.

its the switch that makes it faster

do i need aircon for this to work?

Mate I'm a little confused. You have no installed aircon, but you have a fan, and that doesn't work?

 

Check your fusebox first.

ive checked the fuse box but it doesnt have anythin in there for the a/c is there anotha fuse box i only c the one on the driverside dash

soz new to the ke70s dnt no my way around them proply yet

i think what you mean is that you fan doesnt work, is that right?

if so then get the multi metre out and start testing,

there are fuse boxes in the drivers side kick panel, on the battery strap also some tucked up under the dash from memory (or i might be thinking of dads old car)

 

check all these out and if there is voltage going through the switch then you need a new fan box, which will cost all of about 50 bux, might as well get air con while your at it

The first ever corolla released KE1X had optional aircon and tinting on windows as Corollas have had it since 1968.

 

Usually has a switch saying A/C on dash if you have air con.

 

If it is just a fan try fuse if not motor could be shot.

Not to hijack thread but mine has it got all factory manuals and books and all on it :y: So not many folks paid to get it was pricey but every corolla since day one has had the option for A/C

how much is one expected to pay to get air conditioning installed in a ke70 and what parts are required? can anyone reccommend anywhere in or around Adelaide to get this done?

its funny coz my first ke70 the fan didnt work when i turned it on. 1 day i was goin down a really bumpy dirt road flicked the switch and she never stopped working after that so must be a loose connection somewhere there or a relay i would say.
