The 1jz-gte and Rb20det are Very High-Powered 6-Pot engines for a Ke36. There might be a slight chance of getting it engineered with one of those engines.

To engineer a Supra 6 or a Skyline 6, you will need to do a brake upgrade, get a suitable suspension package, get a strengthened chassis, properly fitted 1jz-gte or Rb20det + Gearbox, and all of the other things you'll need to do to engineer it.

A 3s-gte or an Sr20det are a pretty decent upgrade. You'll only need to do the above listed, except for getting a strengthened chassis.

I'll prob go a 1ggte. The 1jz is 2.5. Rb20 is 2.0.

Already doing everything in the car. Getting caged. Vt brakes on front at minimum with vlt rear brakes. Vl rear diff. I've got vl front struts to see how they go. If they work well I can get adjustable coilovers for it also then. Changing steering to rack and pinion.

Sr20's are shit lol. I'm basically down to 3sgte or 1ggte.

Ok well forget about engine's. That can now stay secret till it's done.

Well I'm halfway through fitting vl struts to the ke36. There connected to the k frame. Using the corolla strut tops. Vl lca's are 330mm compared to the corolla 300mm. And from what I could find the sigma lca's that everyone uses are 330mm. The swaybar links fit straight up. Castor rods mount different however so need to work the out. Easiest way appears to be cut the end's of the connect to the lca and weld the commodore one to the corolla one. They line up together at the lca yet they run on different angles. Unless anybody knows of another castor rod I could use? Commodore ones run through the lca and have a nut on the other side. And no o can't just drill 2 holes for the corolla one :P

Well after another quick look the easiest way may be to weld a plate to the lca's and mount the corolla castor rods to them

RB20 will be a fair bit cheaper and easier to acquire parts. Hurry up and decide what engine you're putting in. You started off with 5K or 4AGE, then 3RZ, Mazda Familia, Jet Engine, 1JZ, 1GGTE. Which will it be champ?! :P ps. I'm sure there was a rotary in there somewhere.

Fixed the link :P

Vinnie. It's a secret lol. So I can't get bagged anymore for being worse then a women on making up my mind haha. There has actually been thoughts of basically everything except a jet engine lol.

nah mate. The other other one lol. Thread title is yet another ke36. I'd send you the link but my nets that slow ATM took me half hour just to reply to this thread and the house nets down all together telstra is having problems.

For the moment I'll be playing with my front end setup. While I wait for the car to be stripped back to bare metal, all the rust cut out and plates welded in place and resprayed. Also gotta get my diff shortened and changed to suit the leaf springs. So that way I can have it rolling with the suspension and brakes already taken car of as soon as the respray is complete. One aim I have made up my mind on is try to stay under 1,000kg and crack 300+rwkw :(

This is going to be hard, mine makes 257kwrw ( which i know can be bettered ) but weighs 1100kg i don't know how you can lose 100kg+, any 400kw motor weighs a fair bit, then you need a box to take it + all the other bits that add weight radiator + extra water, intercooler and piping, turbo and exhaust, tail shaft, fuel system, bigger brakes and suspension,ETC ETC

Yeah I know it'll be hard. Yours is a bit heavier straight up though being a 38 and mine a 36 though

Yes but weigh the diff complete with std wheels and tail shaft, then weigh your vl with intended wheels tail shaft etc, that alone will add 40kg. so a ke30 sedan is 890kg add 35kg for wagon, 40kg for diff, thats 975 kg straight up, so unless you can strip all of the stuff your going to replace ( all you will have is a body with trim) tell me how your going to loose 100kg. maybe no interior, plastic windows, kevlar panels ( fibreglass doesn,t really save much) you could do it but you wont be able to register it, i think 1060kg, OKE020 says his is 1200kg odd

Think of it this way, weight of, motor x 2, gearbox x2.5, tailshaft and exhaust x 3, diff x 2, wheels and brakes x 2 suspension x 2, radiator water and intercooler x 5, ++++++++ probably not totally accurate but close

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm just going to think positive and more just hope to stay under 1,000kg but realistically so long as it's under 1,200 then I'll be happy. Thinking of removing sound deadening. But not sure if I want to. Front seats are being replaced with seats that weigh 7kg each. But yeah once you add up the heavier struts bigger brakes bigger wheels, bigger diff, bigger gearbox. It all adds up pretty quick. So maybe I'll make it under 1,200kg and 300rwkw. So at least it's more realistic hey
